Firstly, triarylmethanes bearing formyl groups (TRAM-CHOs) have been synthesized by the reaction of arenes with aromatic dialdehydes catalyzed by sulfuric acid immobilized on SiO 2 under solvent-free grinding conditions in good yields and short grinding time. Secondly, condensation of TRAM-CHOs with several arenes proceeded rapidly within a few minutes to afford the new corresponding mixed-bistriarylmethanes in excellent yields. TRAM-CHOs were also found to be valuable precursors for the Biginelli reaction to synthesize a variety of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one-triarylmethane hybrid derivatives. © The Royal Society of Chemistry and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.

... Many studies were focused on the preparation of some heterocyclic compounds using the grinding method [40][41][42][43][44][45] , however, as far as we know, there is no mention of the synthesis of thiazolidinone derivatives from Schiff bases by the use of grinding throughout the entire production process. Hence, this work deems the new attempt to synthesize two important pharmaceutical thiazolidinone derivatives by grinding-assisted. ...
