Chromatographic separation of the extract from the root bark of D. melanoxylon afforded six hitherto-undescribed isoflavanones (1-6) alongside eight known secondary metabolites comprising isoflavonoids (7-10), neoflavones (11)(12)(13) and alkyl hydroxylcinnamates (14) (Figure 1).
