A dynamic state-dependent dispatching (DSDD) heuristic for a wafer fabrication plant is presented. The DSDD heuristic dynamically uses different dispatching rules according to the state of a production system. Rather than developing new rules, the DSDD heuristic combines and modifies existing rules. This heuristic first classifies workstations into...

Confocal and electron microscopic observations of willemite (α-Zn2SiO4) crystalline ware glaze, fired to 1270 °C and then aged at 1080 °C for 5 h, indicated the glaze decomposed as (Zn, Ti, Ca)-rich and (Si, Al, K, Na)-rich regions, from which willemite crystallites and amorphous droplets were formed, respectively. Under the constraint of the glaze...

... A crystal fiber has the advantages over a bulk material including better mode confinement and heat dissipation. Various crystal fibers with either single-or double-cladding structures have been fabricated using the co-drawing laser-heated pedestal growth (LHPG) method for coherent and incoherent light sources [1][2][3]. Although the core diameter can be as small as 10 m or less, the crystal fibers are still highly multi-mode because of its large numerical aperture (NA) [3,4]. ...
... The subsequent construction phase solves small systems of algebraic equations, and for 2D solvers with a focused scope these systems are easy to solve and numerically stable. However, the construction phase becomes demanding when one considers including variable-radius circles and extends the geometric vocabulary to include entities such as PH curves or conics; e.g., [2],[3],[6],[7],[8],[11]. For such constructions, the dominant algebraic approach delivers systems of equations that may require substantial computations as well as generating many solutions, not all of them of geometric significance. ...
... This time window is the interval time for customer to be served. Kim and Sahoo [2], Balakrishnan [3], Chen et al. [4] and Min [5] classified time window into two; soft and hard time window. In soft time window (VRPSTW), a vehicle can break customer's time window with penalty cost included. ...
... However, in a re-entrant production line, various parts with different processing requirements need to be processed at the same station and predicting the arrival of a product is difficult [11]. Conventionally, re-entry production systems on actual shop floors are operated using a single priority-based dispatching rule, owing to the complexity of a re-entrant production line [12,13]. ...
... In terms of combining existing heuristic scheduling rules, Wang et al. This selection mechanism can obtain the most suitable heuristic scheduling rules in the current environment. ...
... The fiber's lateral surfaces always contain some lumps, as shown in Fig. 5. Considering that the undoped sapphire fiber's surfaces are very smooth, so it was believed to be the lumps on the Ti:Al 2 O 3 fibers' surfaces are resulted by the titanium segregation. Such phenomena as micrometer-sized particles are similar with the Cr-rich particles in Cr-YAG fibers [28]. ...
... One of the main advantages of Evolutionary Computation lies in its strength to tackle multi-objective formulations, as shown by the applications of Multi Objective Evolutionary Algorithms (MOEAs), see, e.g. Streichert et al. (2004a), Streichert et al. (2004b), Streichert et al. (2004c) and Lin et al. (2001), Diosan (2005) in the context of multi-objective portfolio selection problems; also single-objective formulations have been devised (Chang et al. 2000;Xia et al. 2000;di Tollo and Roli 2008;Wang et al. 2006), even though it has been reported that single-objective formulations are less apt to embed users' preferences (Subbu et al. 2005). ...
... Four, six and eight enterprises are simulated as a CN because it would be difficult to benefit from the collaboration when CN is formed by a large number of enterprises; this is because its coordination cost can increase exponentially. Because a large-scale CN seems unrealistic, most CN research assumes that the number of enterprises in CN is fewer than six enterprises (Chen et al., 2008;Renna and Argoneto, 2011;Nof, 2010, 2011;Moghaddam and Nof, 2014;Seok and Nof, 2014b). In this research, therefore, the number of enterprises in CN is assumed to be [4,6,8]. ...
... It is well known that pure forsterite has an isoelectric point (IEP) when pH is 4.4 which means the forsterite nanoparticles surface charge becomes neutral at this pH value [63]. On the other side, pure willemite has an IEP near 7.4 and ZnO solely has an IEP of 9-10 proving the high potential of Zn to direct the zeta potential of pure forsterite towards positive values [64]. Based on the mentioned concept, it can be deduced that the substitution of Zn 2+ instead of Mg 2+ up to 1 mol. ...
... Initialization: In the case of a cold start, in which the system is completely unloaded, and a set of jobs has been collected and are ready to be executed (e.g., during the night, the production line does not work and arriving orders are collected), we initialize the order of the jobs according to the longest processing first policy since it has been shown to improve the makespan compared other policies [30]. We define the processing time of a job as the sum of the processing time of its tasks. ...
