Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a significant public health burden worldwide. The persistence of covalently closed circular DNA (cccDNA) within the nucleus of infected hepatocytes is responsible for the failure of antiviral treatments. The ubiquitin proteasome system (UPS) has emerged as a promising antiviral target, as it can regulate HB...

... Previous studies have shown that SPOP expression is negatively related to Salmonella loads , and is essential for NF-kB signaling regulation and innate immune response in Salmonella infection in mice . In addition, SPOP can ubiquitinate and degrade HNF1a and nonstructural protein 2A pro to inhibit the replication of hepatitis B virus and enterovirus 71, respectively (Pi et al., 2023;Zang et al., 2023). Moreover, a recent study also reported that zebrafish SPOP negatively regulates MAVS-mediated type I interferon (IFN) responses to enhance the replication of spring viremia of carp virus (Yu et al., 2023), demonstrating the essential role of SPOP in the replication and pathogenicity of the virus. ...
