Larvae of a species of Bactromyiella Mesnil, possibly B. ficta (Walker), were found singly in the abdominal haemocoel of four female Dasybasis oculata and one female Dasybasis hebes. The parasite prepupa escaped from the host's abdomen, pupated within 6–8 hours and a single adult fly was reared after a pupal term of 27–30 days.
