... As a multidimensional concept, childhood maltreatment includes five dimensions: physical abuse, physical neglect, emotional abuse, emotional neglect, and sexual abuse (Bernstein et al., 2003). Based on these five dimensions, two influential approaches, including the cumulative risk model and the multiple individual risk model, capitalized on the predication of the total number or the independent and joint contributions of these different forms of adversity on individual development, respectively (Evans et al., 2013;Hankerson et al., 2022;Haselgruber et al., 2020;Henry et al., 2021;Lacey & Minnis, 2020;Zhang et al., 2022).
