Plant monitoring in Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. 1995-2022. This paper summarizes the assessment and monitoring of flora of special interest carried out in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park over the last 25 years. The list of plants of special interest of this Park currently has 50 taxa (narrow endemics, protected and/or threatened species, species with populations of high biogeographical interest). Until 2022, 31 taxa have been the target of works and 13 are regularly monitored (6 species annually). Key words: Pyrenees, Catalonia, mountain flora, rare plants, protected species, threatened plants.

Revision of the species of Thalictrum subsectio Thalictrum (Ranunculaceae) occurring in Europe Summary: A revision has shown that seven species of Thalictrum subsectio Thalictrum occur in Europe: Th. foetidum (subspecies foetidum, with one further subspecies occurring in Eastern Asia), Th. minus (six subspecies, with two further subspecies occurring outside Europe), Th. simplex (four subspecies, with two further subspecies occurring outside Europe), Th. flavum, Th. speciosissimum (two subspecies), Th. maritimum and Th. lucidum. Th. morisonii cannot be accepted as a species or subspecies. This revision is based on field observations, cultivation of several hundred plants under standardized conditions, and extensive study of herbarium collections. The combination of these methods enabled the broad variability in anatomical and morphological features to be documented. Most of the 115 new chromosome counts confirmed results from previous studies, but many new details also emerged, e. g., the existence of tetraploid Th. minus populations in Europe, the existence of hexaploid populations in Th. simplex, and that Th. maritimum is tetraploid (2n = 28). Morphological variability is partly correlated with cytological differentiation in Th. simplex, but not in Th. minus. On the other hand, several taxa of the latter species differ in their flowering seasons. The frequently postulated hybridization of taxa was reconfirmed cytologically. The enormous plasticity of morphological characters and the marked tendency to evolve slightly different local populations require a broad concept for classifying the species and subspecies of Thalictrum. Generally, subsection Thalictrum has few defining features, thus even some of the taxa accepted in the current revision are difficult to differentiate. The use of the rank variety does not appear appropriate. For the first time, all available specific and infraspecific names down to the rank of variety (about 1300 names) have been assessed nomenclaturally. Many controversial names were typified so as to stabilize their application. The results of this study enable an initial interpretation of the phylogeny of Thalictrum subsectio Thalictrum. Th. foetidum stands isolated because of its markedly different achenes. Entomophilous taxa of this otherwise mainly anemogamous subsection (highest diversity in Eastern Asia) are found only in Europe and the Mediterranean area, which constitute a secondary centre of diversification. Many details of the concepts discussed for the genus Thalictrum are still debatable, e. g. the monophyly of subsection Thalictrum. Thus a revision of further Old World taxa and detailed molecular investigations of the entire genus are needed.
