Macaronic Turkic poetry (mulammaʿ)
It interacts a large variety aspect between nations that take part the same circle of
civilization, share mutual history and geography. It is quite difficult to determine the
direction of the “effect” in this interaction which is double-sided.
The emergence of the form of interpreting in Turkish poetry has been a consequence
of the inclusion of the Turks in the circle of Islamic civilization and their first
examples it comes in the forms of Persian-Turkish, Arabic-Turkish or Arabic-Persian-
Turkish. For this reason, sources that give information about the mulamma defines it;
“in Persian and Turkish literature; Turkish, Arabic, and Persian spoken couplets and
verses constitutes” in the form of poems.
The mulemma in Turkish poetry is not just poetry of divan poets. It is seen that the
form of Mulemma has coverage in many types of minstrel and anonymous folk
literatures (folk songs, mani, riddles, proverbs, anecdotes, etc.) and daily
conversations, even contemporary music products.
