Abstract

Amoebic Dysentery (AD) is a disease prevalent in endemic areas such as Central and South America, Africa and Asia caused by Entamoeba histolytica (EH) Associated in non-endemic countries with immigrants or travelers who present with abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea. Due to the low prevalence and symptoms that mimic other common diseases, it is often overlooked as an etiology of abdominal pain unless careful history is taken. We hereby present a case of AD in America that presented like acute appendicitis
