The water available for daily consumption may be contaminated by natural sources or by industrial effluents. One such a contaminant is fluoride. Exposure to fluoride in drinking water has a number of adverse effects on human health. One of the naturally available alternatives for defluoridation of water is Moringa Oleifera. Using colourimetric method, tests were conducted to get optimal values of pH of water in acid and alkali treated powder of Moringa Oleifera. Optimal contact time for 212µ and 600µ were determined. For higher removal percentage efficiency of fluoride, optimal dose of adsorbent was also determined. From the results obtained it can be concluded that Moringa Oleifera can become a cheap alternative for defluoridation of water.

Kinetic drying measurements make it possible to determine the influence of various parameters (temperature, thickness of the layer of the product, speed of drying air) on the behaviour of the product when it is being dried and thus deduce from it a characteristic curve of the product including the maximum parameters. In this paper, we have studied through experiment the drying of cocoa in several layers and defined the correlations that make it possible to find the characteristic cocoa drying curve for a group of given parameters. The graphic determination of the characteristic drying curve made it possible to obtain results that conform to the direct method. Tests were conducted in the Laboratoire d'énergétique (Energy Systems Laboratory) of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Polytechnique of Yaounde (ENSPY). In this paper, a novel three-dimensional autonomous chaotic system is proposed. The proposed system contains four variational parameters, a cubic nonlinearity term (i.e. product of all the three states) and exhibits a chaotic attractor in numerical simulations. The basic dynamic properties of the system are analyzed by means of equilibrium points, Eigen values and Lyapunov exponents. Finally, the commensurate and non-commensurate fractional order form of the system which exhibits chaotic attractor is also analyzed.

Fluoride is one of the largely abundant elements occurring in groundwater in Ethiopia and creates a major problem out of harm's way groundwater supply. Occurrence of fluoride above the set limit in drinking water consumed by human beings has caused multi-dimensional physical condition tribulations. The present study describes the preparation of low cost adsorbent and to evaluate its adsorption efficiency for removal of fluoride ion in artificially prepared waste water using peanut husk powder. The set adsorption study was applied to study the defluoridating effectiveness by varying contact time, adsorbent dose, adsorbate concentration, and pH. Prepared adsorbent showed better removal of fluoride by 82.3% at equilibrium contact time of 80 minutes. The adsorption information appeared to be well integral to both the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm model. The adsorption capacity (qm) and adsorption coefficient (b) was obtained as 22.6 mg/g and 0.14 L/mg respectively and the results are suggesting that the treated peanut husk has a reasonable defluoridating capacity and could be considered as an effective and appropriate adsorbent for a sustainable solution to mitigate the fluoride problem. This study is a step in developing a general platform suitable for producing potable water that also specifically addresses the problem of fluoride.

This paper discusses the effect of suspension kinetics on handling and steering response of a FSAE(Formula Society of Automotive Engineers) car. Parameters like suspension frequency, roll stiffness, roll sensitivity, lateral load transfer distribution will be discussed in detail. The paper aims at finding an acceptable range of these values which leads to good vehicle handling and steering response. Also discuss the effect and finding the suitable LLTD(Lateral Load Transfer Distribution) and making the vehicle dynamics better for FSAE car

High concentrations of fluoride in drinking water had caused widespread fluorosis. A simple, precise, rapid and reliable technique has been developed for removal of fluoride in drinking water. The innovative technique employs activated alumina for defluoridation of drinking water. Alumina is inert in nature, hence it is safe to use and handle. The innovation in regeneration of alumina makes the technique cost effective. The reliability of the newly developed technique has been established by analyzing spiked water samples of high concentrations of fluoride (upto 50 ppm) and levels of fluoride has been brought down to less than 1 ppm. The method is superior to currently employed techniques and is recommended to the laboratories where a huge volume of water is to be defluoridated.
