Abstract:
Points of view about Violence in television programs and its
impact on the child's behavior and his psychological health
Research problem: is summarized in the following question, how does
violence on television in all its forms (images and information materials
that came with the news, or within the movies, and TV series within
cartoon movies) affect on the child's behavior and mental health?
Research importance: lies in the possibility to answer the question of
the research from different points of view in a scientific manner which
could help in resolving the controversy over the role of television in
shaping a child's violent behavior and its impact on his mental health.
Aim of the research: acquaintance the views and attitudes of people
from various scientific and cultural backgrounds about the impact of
violence that shows through the TV screen on the child's behavior, now
and in the future, and also its impact on the mental health of the child.
The procedure: This was achieved by constructing a scale to measure
trends according to a Likert scale. it has been applied on two groups.
The results: The answer to the first question: Multiple points; first, "The
study sample believe that the violence in cartoons makes the child
imitates physical violence".
The conclusion: Search results showed a clear indication on the issue
of violence in television and its possible impact on the formation of the
child's behavior and psychological health.

Recommendations: if it was difficult or may be impossible to limit the
supply of movies and serials violence within television programs, it will
become important that parents observe the programs watched by their
child and dialogue with him about the contents. And the discussion that
follows watching images of violence, significantly contributes to dispel
misconceptions of the child and refine the events and facts that children
watch on the screen.
Suggestions: Research uncovering manifestations of violence on the
children of primary and secondary schools and the statement of its
relationship to the child watching violent programs on television.
