Thoughts on Ideological and Political Education of
College Students under the New Situation

Abstract—By studying the scientific concept of "xi jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era"
proposed at the 19th CPC national congress, Combined with the current ideological and political education work practice of college
students, This paper analyzes and discusses the current situation and existing problems of college students' ideological and political
education work under the new situation, actively promotes the development of college students' ideological and political education
work, and provides useful reference for college students' ideological and political education work.

I. INTRODUCTION
Since the 18th national congress of the CPC, in the face of the complex situation of China's development, With comrade xi
jinping as general secretary of the CPC central committee, Relying on the party and the people, we have made great
achievements in rapid economic development. The 19th congress of the CPC was held in Beijing on October 18, 2017. More
than 2,000 representatives from different regions, ethnic groups and industries gathered in Beijing, the capital, to discuss
strategies for governing and rejuvenating the country. The nineteenth congress of the CPC is a grand gathering of great
significance held at a new historical starting point for our party and country. It will be recorded in history. The general secretary
first made nineteen reports.Party's 19 report as our party set foot on a new journey, into the new era, writing a new chapter in
the political declaration and action plan, with the global ", "political pattern, feelings, historical view, the national big bear, put
forward a series of new ideas, new idea and new measures, new assertion, new requirements, what science answer the
persistence and development of new era, how to adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics socialism with
Chinese characteristics the important age topic, further enrich the development theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics
treasure, high response for the whole party and all the army and the national people's new expectations,It has shown the world
the grand blueprint, solid measures and firm confidence of the CPC in China's future. The 19th CPC national congress is a
glorious chapter of historical significance and a programmatic document of the new era.[1-4]
II. TEXT
The general secretary pointed out in the report that, after long-term efforts, socialism with Chinese characteristics has
entered a new era, which is a new historical orientation for China's development.The contradiction between the people's
growing material and cultural needs and backward social production "translates into the contradiction between the people's
growing needs for a better life and unbalanced and inadequate development".
The report also puts forward that we should fully implement the party's education policy, carry out the fundamental task of
cultivating virtuous people, develop education quality, promote education fairness, and cultivate talents with all-round
development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty.
Ideal faith and political thought education is an important part of moral education for college students, and it is also one of
the important contents to improve the ideological and political education of college students. How can we, in the context of
multi-culture, focus on the new problems and situations in the current education of college students' ideal and belief, grasp the
main problems, identify the reasons for the existing problems, and explore the way to solve the effectiveness of education of
college students' ideal and belief from a deeper level? This is a topic worthy of continuous discussion and summary, Nineteen
reports give clear answers.[5-7]
Education is the soul and core of education in colleges and universities, and it is also a solemn and urgent task revolution in
colleges and universities.In the global ideological and cultural exchanges take on new characteristics, multi-cultural
competition is more intense, unstable factors increase, China's universities and colleges are still countries in the west and
China's hostile forces for the thought of college students in the forefront. How to make contemporary college students adhere to
the correct political thought, education subject can really put political thought education as the core content of college students
education, is the key to train college students to become qualified builders and successors of the socialist cause of the major
issues.

Through the study of the nineteenth report, we should clearly see that, although the mainstream of contemporary college
students' political thoughts and ideals and beliefs is positive, healthy and upward. However, we should be more soberly aware
that with the rapid development of society, the ideological situation of college students in our country has also undergone n ew
changes, with new characteristics.This brings unprecedented challenges to the current ideological and political education work
of college students in China. How to face these challenges and problems? We should not ignore and avoid the problems of
college students' ideals and beliefs.College students' ideological and political education work should take the initiative to adapt
to these new characteristics, further explore new laws, and scientifically guide college students' healthy growth into talents.
Because, in order to realize the great ideal of Chinese nation's prosperity, the political ideal of college students is a very
important factor.[8,9]
We should establish the common ideal and firm belief of taking the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics under the
leadership of the CPC and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.At the same time, we should actively guide
college students to continuously pursue higher goals, so that advanced elements among them can set up lofty ideals of
communism and firm faith of marxism. The political and ideological quality of college students is the prerequisite to ensure that
our country is invincible in the international competition environment. The political and ideological concept is the core element
of college students' quality. Only by educating college students in political and ideological concepts can we cultivate a
contingent of high-quality talents in a complex international environment, and make high-level talents not disgrace their
mission and contribute their strength to the rapid development of society.
As an important position for studying, researching and disseminating the party's basic theories, universities should take the
lead in learning, publicizing and implementing the party's nineteen great spirits.We should highlight the characteristics of the
university, give full play to the advantages of the university, and do a better job in ideological education training for college
students.Universities should take the lead in carrying out study, adhere to the ideological and political study of college students
as the primary task, consciously learn first step, learn a little deeper, create a strong atmosphere;We will do a good job in
ideological training and make solid progress in introducing the socialist ideological system with Chinese characteristics into
textbooks, classrooms and the mind in the new era of xi jinping.Through the study and implementation of the party's nineteen
great spirit, efforts are made to promote the political thought of college students to a new realm.[10,11]
III. CONCLUSIONS
The report of the Nineteenth National Congress is a report of reviewing achievements and summing up experiences; as
university teachers and students, everyone should study the report carefully, take conscientiously understanding and
comprehensively implementing the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the Party as the main political task at present
and in the future, constantly deepen ideological understanding, implement the hopes and requirements of the General Secretary,
and strive to do their job well in order to achieve scientific development in the new era. Contribute one's own strength!
