Abstract

Microtoena patchoulii (Clarke ex Hook.) Wu & Hsuan of Lamiaceae family is highly aromatic plant found in Southeast Asia and in Northeast India especially in Manipur. In Manipur, the plant is famous with the local name Sangbrei. It is commonly known as khasia patchouli due to the essential oils present in them which is found to be quite similar with the common patchouli(Pogostemon cablin Benth.).
