Porous silicon based narrow line-width rugate filters

We report on the design and fabrication of porous silicon based rugate filters. We have achieved narrow line-width, high reflectivity optical filters made entirely from silicon by continuously varying of the refractive index of Si and apodizing the index profile of the structure.

A Compact Microstrip Lowpass Filter Based on Defected Ground Structure

A new compact defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed for the microstrip line. The performance of the new DGS is analyzed. Here this DGS is used to design a compact lowpass filter (LPF). The fabricated filter has a 3 dB cutoff frequency at 2.4 GHz and it is as small as 22.3 mm × 16 mm. Suppression levels, for the fabricated filter, are greater than 20 dB from 3 to 10.3 GHz. A Novel Dual-mode Dual-band Bandpass Filter with DGS

A novel dual-mode dual-band bandpass filter with simple defected ground struc-ture (DGS) is proposed. A dual-mode dual-band bandpass filter is obtained by combining the microstrip square loop on the top layer and another square loop constructed with DGS on the bottom layer, which achieve dual-mode single-band bandpass characteristic, respectively.
