Results of tests and operations of brushless exciter systems for turbogenerators
Abstract
A brushless diode exciter system for a multiphase ac generator was developed. The system is used for exciting 200 and 300 MW turbogenerators. Tests have confirmed the operating reliability and high-speed response on the excitation system. The problem of manufacturing 400 to 500 Hz turbogenerator exciter systems are described.
