Small interfering RNA (siRNA) can specifically suppress gene expression by cleaving mRNA in the cytoplasm, termed RNA interference (RNAi). Although a nanoparticle-based siRNA delivery system has been approved for clinical use, the efficiency of cytoplasmic delivery of siRNA is still low. Recently, our group has established a highly efficient siRNA...

Question (1)
Question
Are there any lipid transport proteins that actively transport phospholipids (mainly phosphatidylcholine) into the lipid bilayer they are stuck in?
I am looking for a protein that transports PC in one direction, not in both directions by simple diffusion, and that has as small a molecular weight as possible.
I feel that such a protein might exist in an obligate intracellular parasite that cannot synthesize its own phospholipids, but I have not yet been able to find any literature indicating such a thing.
I appreciate the response.
