Description
  • Climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions is an increasingly acute global problem. It is expected that by the end of the century, the concentration of CO2 may increase by about 2 times. The research center conducts research in the field of analysis of competing foreign and domestic technologies for capturing volatile organic compounds and CO2, and I develop proposals for technological solutions for capturing CO2 for various industries.

Nowadays, modern gas supply systems are complex. They consist of gas distribution stations; high-, medium-, and low-pressure gas networks; gas installations; and control points. These systems are designed to provide natural gas to the population, including domestic, industrial, and agricultural consumers. This study is aimed at developing methods f...

The impact of emissions from the fuel and energy sectors adversely affects the environment on the economies of countries. One of these pollutants is volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which contribute to the formation of tropospheric ozone. Emissions of hydrocarbon formation in the form of VOCs occur in four stages of the fuel and energy industry s...

This study presents the results of capital and operating costs for CO2 capture technologies in the refining and petrochemical sectors. Depending on the refining process and the CO2 capture method, costs ofCO2emissions can be avoided from 30 to 40 Euros per tons ofCO2. Advanced low-temperature CO2 capture technologies for upgrading oxyfuel reformers...

This article presents the results of a numerical experiment and an analysis of temperature fields (coolers for gas) using cooling elements in the case study gas pipeline. An analysis of the temperature fields demonstrated several principles for the formation of a temperature field, which indicates the need to maintain a relative temperature for gas...

This study presents a mathematical model to evaluate the performance of gas pipelines during hydrogen injection in a gas pipeline-compressor station. The developed model presents the calculation of methane–hydrogen mixture (CH4/H2) transportation through the compressor station, where the compensation of pressure drops in the mass and energy balance...

A fully dense ZrB2–30 vol% SiC composite containing 5 wt% Si3N4 and 4 wt% phenolic resin (1.6 wt% carbon) was sintered using the hot-pressing route under the external pressure of 10 MPa at 1900 ºC for 2 h. The microstructural evolution and interfacial phenomena were scrutinized using advanced microscopy facilities such as high-resolution transmissi...

Pipeline transportation is widely regarded as the most cost-effective method for conveying substantial volumes of hydrogen across extensive distances. However, before hydrogen can be widely used, a new pipeline network must be built to reliably supply industrial users. An alternative way to rather expensive investments in new infrastructure could b...

Accidents on gas pipelines cause significant damage to the national economy and the economy of the state. Thus, it is necessary to always be prepared for such situations in order to restore the normal operation of the gas pipeline as soon as possible. An important role is played by the execution time of the control actions to localize the accident,...

Nord Stream 2 is one of the most discussed energy projects, which affects the economic and political interests of many countries, not only the direct participants. Despite some uncertainty, the project is highly likely to be completed. In this regard, it is important to understand what impact it will have on the European gas market. This article pr...

The research discusses an effective method for capturing CO2 and volatile organic compounds on the example of a model of a VOC and CO2 capture plant presented by the authors. The first method is based on regulating the turn-on time of the installation. The second method is based on the use of the potential energy of the fluid flow of the gravity se...

The article discusses effective ways to reduce the cost of operating vapor recovery units and increase the financial result of their operation. The first method is based on regulation of the power-on time of the installation. The second method is based on using the potential energy of the fluid flow of the gravity section to supply the system equip...

Emissions of volatile organic compounds into the atmosphere when loading oil or petroleum products into tankers are strong environmental pollutants. Given the increase in oil transport by sea and the development of Arctic routes, humanity faces the task of preserving the Arctic ecosystem. Vapor recovery units can limit the emissions of volatile org...

Based on a synthesis of experience in using such equipment a solution is proposed for an independent expert evaluation of vapor recovery technologies based on experiments at a specially developed stand. The concept of the stand provides for an assessment of the parameters of the process as a whole (specific energy consumption per 1 kg of captured p...

One of the most important problems of pipeline transport is maintaining a healthy state of the linear part of field and trunk pipelines. Numerous surveys show that underground pipelines operating for several decades are susceptible to aging processes caused by corrosion and mechanical damage to the pipeline, which result in gas leakage. A large amo...

This paper considers the relevance of the control with rill-washing corrosion. The flow of fluid in the pipe is modeled by the example of a conditional pipeline. This will allow one to determine the moment of formation of the flow of a two-phase fluid flow and to determine the interval for placement of the dissecting couplings. A scheme is proposed...

A technique for calculating the nonstationary regime for the movement of natural gas along a multi-stranded gas main with allowance for travel selections is proposed. On the total flow of transported gas, gas flows are determined at all sections of the pipeline, taking into account the pressure in the controlled areas. When compiling the calculatio...

The method of aggregative analysis makes it possible to simulate various technological situations arised during the operation of a gas pipeline. The method makes it possible to determine the deviation of the operating mode of the gas pipeline from the operating mode. In this case, the curves for the temperature and pressure changes of the transport...

An analysis of the operation of the gas transportation system shows that for a considerable part of time pipelines operate in an unsettled regime of gas movement. Its pressure and flow rate vary along the length of pipeline and over time as a result of uneven consumption and selection, switching on and off compressor units, shutting off stop valves...

The energy crisis, which becomes more evident in Russia, stems in many respects from unjustified high consumption of energy resources. Development and exploitation of principal oil and gas deposits located in remote areas with severe climatic conditions require considerable investments increasing essentially the cost of power generation. Account sh...

The method of determining the flow rate of gas in the gas-dynamic resistance of a medium gas stream with high linear speed was studied. The reduction of the density of the gas is a result of its expansion. Multiple calculations of gas losses were evaluated. Calculation is set by loss of gas depending on the area of the pipeline damage. A comparativ...

The paper describes possibility of mechanical property investigations using small-sized specimens (Small Punch Test or SPT) to assess degradation of metallic materials of oil and gas equipment and pipelines. SPT is proposed as non-destructive method since it does not affect operating capacity of the evaluated objects. According to the results of th...
