Abstract

In the present day scenario, many times the cleaning of garbage bins or dust bin which placed at public places in Chittagong city of Bangladesh are not well maintained according to requirement. And so sometimes the garbage bin gets overflowed before cleaning. It creates unhygienic condition for citizens and creates bad smell around the surroundings which leads in spreading deadly diseases & human illness. To create green environment, in this paper, we focused on a Smart Waste Management System incorporate with internet of things (IOT). In this proposed System, multiple dustbins in different location all over the city have been provided with a low cost embedded device which sends data to internet cloud after reaching a certain threshold level of the Dust bin in order to perform the cleaning as early possible. Moreover, the device will transmit the level along with the unique ID provided via SMS to the closest authorized cleaner. The total system is clearly visible with proper authentication to the highest authority of waste management system. And also the system is able to notify the authority if any cleaner avoid the SMS.

To make a green city and to relief from the unhygienic condition,
this system is necessary.
In this smart system, authority can monitor easily because of
GSM and IoT based.
IoT makes this system intellectual and helpful to the government
of the country to make an immense promise of creating clean
city.
To know the current state of garbage bin in our Chittagong
city.
To relief from bad smell of dust bins.
To make sure that the garbage bin don’t get overflow.
To make the system in proper maintained.
Introduction
The proposed system is efficient and time saving process .
The implement costs for the automation is affordable.
The system can be implemented at any place with easy and
within reasonable amount of time.
Because of GSM based ,it will cover up with a long distance
Gas sensor will be set into garbage bin to sense the gas which
may harm on citizen then send information to the authority
through cloud to take immediate action.

Waste level is successfully determined.

cleaner
If any authorized cleaner failed to clean it, the authority will take

Many municipalities and local organizations are currently planning to improve their services by applying information and communication technologies (ICT), especially Web-based approaches, to serve citizens, business, and the government agencies as well. Besides the quality of service, cost-effectiveness is a major criterion to be met. In this paper, we present a Web-based solution to urban and suburban waste management (Internet of wasted things), which employs smart bins, a wireless sensor network, and a back-end real-time data collection and communication system for managing waste collection in a cost-effective way. Results are gained by setting up a prototype smart waste management system (SWMS) in a local community in the lower north of Thailand. The system may be employed in similar projects, where cost-effectiveness is a major criterion regarding feasibility.
