p>The aim of this study is to show the result of aneurysm coiling despite the difficulty in initiating neurointervention in Nepal. It is a retrospective study where only aneurysm that has undergone coiling are taken from 2017 to 2018.A total of eleven patients (male: female = 1: 10) with aneurysm were treated with Endovascular therapy. 9 cases were...

Perivascular areas of the brain harbor multipotent stem cells. We recently demonstrated that after a stroke, brain pericytes exhibit features of multipotent stem cells. Moreover, these ischemia-induced multipotent stem cells (iSCs) are present within ischemic areas of the brain of patients diagnosed with stroke. Although increasing evidence shows t...

Background Cervical dumbbell schwannomas are commonly occurring tumor in the cervical spine. Careful planning of the surgical strategy is necessary to achieve successful tumor resection while maintaining the spinal stability and preventing any adverse events. We describe the surgical management strategy for obtaining safe gross total resection of c...

We showed that injury-induced multipotent stem cells (iSCs) emerge in the brain after stroke. These brain-derived iSCs (B-iSCs) can differentiate into various lineages, including neurons. This study aimed to determine whether similar stem cells can be induced even after nonischemic injuries, such as trauma to the spinal cord. We characterized these...

Flow diverters (FD) have become the mainstay for the endovascular treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA). Most FD procedures are performed under general anesthesia, and the influence of local anesthesia (LA) on outcomes remains unknown. This study evaluated the results of FD placement under LA. Data of patients treated for FD under LA...

Twig-like middle cerebral artery (T-MCA) or rete mirabile anomaly is a rare vascular anomaly with clinical relevance characterized by the replacement of the M1 segment by a plexiform network of small vessels. With an incidence ranging from 0.11% to 1.17%, it is more prevalent in Asia. The twig arises from the distal ICA and ends at the distal horiz...

The introduction of flow diverters (FDs) has represented a paradigm shift in the management of unruptured cerebral aneurysms (UCA). Flow Re-direction Endoluminal Devices (FREDs) and Pipeline Embolization Devices (PEDs) have gained widespread popularity. We aimed to investigate the cumulative incidence of aneurysm occlusion. A total of 195 patients...

Introduction and importance Severe acute respiratory distress syndrome coronavirus 2 is the causative agent of COVID-19 (Coronavirus 2019) infection. Although symptoms are usually associated with the respiratory system, its neurological involvement should not be underestimated. The most common cerebrovascular complication following the infection is...

Background Cavernomas (cavernous angiomas, hemangiomas) are benign, clearly defined, vascular hamartomatous lesions composed of vascular channels lined by one layer of endothelium separated by a matrix made of smooth muscles and collagenous tissue. Although the diagnosis of cavernoma is straightforward in a patient presenting with typical l finding...

Carotid artery stenosis is one of the important risk factors for stroke. Carotid endarterectomy and carotid artery stenting are the available treatment options for managing carotid artery stenosis patients. The technology shift towards carotid artery stenting is promising due to its less invasive approach. Carotid artery stenting has become an alte...

Perivascular areas of the brain harbour multipotent stem cells. We have recently demonstrated that brain pericytes (PCs) following ischemia (iPCs) have the traits as multipotent stem cells and these ischemia-induced multipotent stem cells (iSCs) are present within ischemic areas of stroke patients. Although increasing evidence shows that iSCs have...

Stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and the number one cause of dependency in the world. Endovascular therapy has emerged as promising treatment strategy in the patient with acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion in anterior circulation. Moreover, the time window for mechanical thrombectomy have also been expanded based on...

p>Balloon Test occlusion (BTO) is a preoperative angiographic test used to estimate the risk of stroke after permanent therapeutic occlusion of an internal carotid artery (ICA) involved by aneurysms. Temporary balloon occlusion at the cavernous ICA aneurysm neck was performed in an attempt to assess the adequacy of cross flow from the opposite ICA...

Question
I differentiated human neural progenitor cells into neurons. These cells were relatively fragile and were difficult to attach on the cell surface. I have to immunostain these cells, thus I was wondering if the temperature of PFA may affect the immunostaining results obtained from the cells.
