Three-dimensional (3D) printer usage in household and school settings has raised health concerns regarding chemical and particle emission exposures during operation. Although the composition of 3D printer emissions varies depending on printer settings and materials, little is known about the impact that emissions from different filament types may h...

Background Metabolic syndrome (MetS) exacerbates susceptibility to inhalation exposures such as particulate air pollution, however, the mechanisms responsible remain unelucidated. Previously, we determined a MetS mouse model exhibited exacerbated pulmonary inflammation 24 h following AgNP exposure compared to a healthy mouse model. This enhanced re...

Nanoparticles (NPs) interact with biomolecules by forming a biocorona (BC) on their surface after introduction into the body and alter cell interactions and toxicity. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a prevalent condition and enhances susceptibility to inhaled exposures. We hypothesize that distinct NP-biomolecule interactions occur in the lungs due to...

Pre-existing conditions modulate sensitivity to numerous xenobiotic exposures such as air pollution. Specifically, individuals suffering from metabolic syndrome (MetS) demonstrate enhanced acute inflammatory responses following particulate matter inhalation. The mechanisms associated with these exacerbated inflammatory responses are unknown, impair...

Impact statement: The use of traditional tobacco products is a known risk factor for the development of diseases including periodontal disease. To date, the potential oral health effects related to electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS) use is unknown. This study collected saliva from ENDS users and never tobacco users to examine differences...

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are utilized in surgical implants and medical textiles, thus providing access to the circulation. While research has been conducted primarily in healthy models, AgNP-induced toxicity evaluations in disease conditions are critical, as many individuals have preexisting conditions. Specifically, over 20% of United States a...

Introduction: When nanoparticles (NPs) enter a physiological environment, a coating of biomolecules or biocorona (BC) forms on the surface. Formation of the NP-BC is dependent on NP properties, the physiological environment, and time. The BC influences NP properties and biological interactions such as cellular internalization, immune responses, bio...

Stigmasterol (99.9% pure) was isolated from Azadirachta indica and its chemopreventive effect on 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA)-induced skin cancer was investigated in Swiss albino mice. Skin tumors were induced by topical application of DMBA and promoted by croton oil. To assess the chemopreventive potential of stigmasterol, it was orally a...

Question
I have done a dozen of tests to estimate the toxicity of AuNPs; however, I got confused with results whereas ROS, GPx and Caspase3 are increased. In contrast, Catalase, JC-1 and SO dismutase are decreased?
Is there anyone help me to get the mystery?
Question
I have checked low concentrations of AuNPs on HepG2 but I did not get any signs that significant (5,10,15,25,50,75,100,150,200ug/ml) so I need your help to get an effective concentration.
Question
Dear all.
I have 500mg/ml of gold nanoparticles, where I would like to know the expectation its concentration to be toxic for mammalian cells line.
