Index investing has an advantage over active investment strategies, because less frequent trading results in lower expenses, yielding higher long-term returns. Index tracking is a popular investment strategy that attempts to find a portfolio replicating the performance of a collection of investment vehicles. This paper considers index tracking from...

This paper demonstrates an approach in data analysis to minimize overall maintenance costs for the air pressure system of Sca-nia trucks. Feature creation on histograms was used. Randomly chosen subsets of attributes were then evaluated to generate an order and a final subset of features. Finally, a Random Forest was applied and fine-tuned. The res...

We demonstrate the application of Widening to learning per-formant Bayesian Networks for use as classifiers. Widening is a framework for utilizing parallel resources and diversity to find models in a hypothesis space that are potentially better than those of a standard greedy algorithm. This work demonstrates that widened learning of Bayesian Netwo...
Conference Paper
Full-text available
We demonstrate that the previously introduced Widening framework is applicable to state-of-the-art Machine Learning algorithms. Using Krimp, an itemset mining algorithm, we show that parallelizing the search finds better solutions in nearly the same time as the original, sequential/greedy algorithm. We also introduce Reverse Standard Candidate Orde...

This paper shows how visualization has helped a political scientist to make sense of an important topic: states' policies toward religion. Dissatisfied with the current techniques of data analysis in the field he asked for a visual tool that would enable him to directly see and interact with the data and come up with answers for his substantive res...
Patent
Computer programming for use with the PC of an on-line data access user and with the host computer of an on-line data access provider or file server. After dialing the host point of presence through a telecommunication switch and logging onto the host computer, the user uploads a batch of queries to the host computer. After uploading the queries, t...

Question
Hi,
I'm looking for some related work to a current project and I have only found one example where classification accuracy is used as the scoring function for learning Bayesian Networks:
Sierra, B., and P. Larranaga. "Predicting the survival in malignant skin melanoma using Bayesian networks. An empirical comparison between different approaches." Artificial Intelligence in Medicine 14, no. 1-2 (1998): 215-230.
But that can't really be the only one. Do you know of any others?
