Introduction
Coating of magnetite with organo-silica hybrids for adsorption of gold and other heavy metal ions. Organic compounds used as the active site sources are those contain amino and mercapto groups. The precursor used for silica source is sodium silicate prepared from rice hull ash. The project aims to find a adsorbent selective and effective for gold ion in aqueous solution.
