Abstract1
Background and objectives: Roads induce some of the most pervasive
anthropogenic alterations in watershed and source o run off. In mountain area road
network despite lower surface to the total surface has an impact the watershed
hydrology. The aim of the current research is the comparison of Chehel-chay
Watershed roads with rural road sta...
Identifying the relationship between forest roads and wildfires in forest ecosystems is a crucial priority to integrate suppression and prevention within wildfire management. In various investigations, the interaction of these elements has been studied by using road density as one of the anthropogenic dependent variables. This study focused on the...
Abstract: The study mainly aims at looking into the disparities in beneficiary’s socio-economic status between the areas without implementation of forestry plans and the areas where forestry plans had initially been available even though they have recently been terminated as well. Babol Roud forestry plan is located in Lafoor forest area in the Bab...
In this study, spatio-temporal forest canopy cover density changes in the Golestan National Park (Iran) were assessed from 1967 to 2016 using aerial photos and satellite images in a Geographical Information Systems environment. The digital aerial orthophoto mosaics were created after georeferencing photos of the years 1967 and 1994. A special canop...
Abstract
Introduction and Objective: Estimating the amount of wood produced in poplar plantations is not possible without determining the area of poplar plants. Estimating the amount of wood produced is very important for the production management of wood industry units. Industry owners need to know how much poplar wood can be extracted in the comi...
Abstract
Zagros forests are considered as protective forests of the country and have many environmental functions. The area of these forests has been declining in recent decades and there is a high rate of degradation in this area. On the other hand, the climate of this vegetation area is semi-arid and it is necessary to store more rainfall. To reg...
Abstract*
Background and Objectives: Nowadays, study about the reclamation of abandoned skid trails is
necessary due to their frequency in forestry units of north of Iran especially in so-called respiration
period. These skid trails turn to be bare after the primary transportation (especially within first
transportation years) where resulted in ero...
Citation: Mazri A., Parsakhoo A., Mostafa M. (2020): Efficiency of the some conservation treatments for soil erosion control from unallowable slopes of skid trails. J. For. Sci., 66: 368-374 Abstract: skid trails in ShastKalate forests. Two longitudinal slopes of 20-40% and > 40% were considered as critical slopes for skid trails. Treatments of wat...
Non-implementing of forestry plans across Hyrcanian region in Iran has been one of the
one of the important major decisions of forest management sector in recent years. This study
was carried out to investigate implementing or non-implementing of forestry plan in the Babol
Roud, Mazandaran province. Furthermore, Cochran's relationship was used to d...
Due to the logistical challenges of large-scale rainfall simulator, most studies to date have used small
scale rainfall simulator with a nozzle height of less than 3 m and a plot area of less than 5 m 2. Performing
such small-scale studies is valuable for investigating the rate of soil erodibility, soil infiltration, the impact
of herbaceous and sh...
Forest Roads are the main element of recovering, conserving and harvesting of natural
resources. The current research has down in order to spatial locating qualitative characteristics
of road pavement and schedule conservation and maintenance projects in main road, 1, 2, 3
roads in ShastKalateh Forestry plan, Gorgan, Iran. First all of the roads we...
Aims In the present study, effect of different hydro seed binder combinations were evaluated on
stability clay soil cut slope of road in the campus of Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences
and Natural Resources, Iran.
Materials & Methods The hydro-seed treatments were classified as A (5L m-2 water, 50g
m-2 Festuca arundinacea L., 40g m-2 polya...
Abstract
Due to the interaction of Tree species and its environment, descriptions and analysis of forest types are
necessary. The aim of present study was to evaluate modeling distribution of forest types using
parametric and nonparametric algorithm. Current research was carried out in Ziarat forestry plan,
Golestan province, Iran. 556 samples were...
Abstract
Forest roads are necessary to access the forest area in order to performance forest
management plans and to be availability of forest regions. Purpose of this research was
technical characteristic analysis of existing road networks in compare to given standards
of rural road, forest road and in multiple use forest management plan of Armard...
Abstract
Skidding logs from stump to depot areas is the most important part of ground-based
logging operations, which often leads to an increase in soil bulk density and decrease in
soil porosity. In this study, woody slash and sawdust treatments with a weight of 10 kg
m-2 were used to decrease soil compaction on skid trails during the trips of rub...
Abstract1
Background and objectives: Animal logging and river transportation are
traditional systems for transporting the poplar and willow timbers from the margins
of rivers in Kurdistan province.
Materials and methods: This research initially introduces the river transportation
system for wood extraction and then compares this system with mule lo...
The aim of this study is fire hazard zoning the Chehel-Chay watershed and analysis of road network in order to fire-fighting management. Using effective factors on fire occurrence, the fire hazard map of the study area produced by support vector machine algorithm and then was divided into four hazard classes. The road length and type were investiga...
Careful planning of skid trails as wood extraction routes in forests is an ongoing task and necessary for minimizing the environmental damage. The main objective of this study is to find skid trails to extract marked trees from stand sites to landing sites using a GIS-based decision support system (DSS) and network analysis techniques, where enviro...
We summarized the results of the Road Network Analysis (RNA), when the shortest path to reduce travel time in the Gorgan city public road network, in Iran, was evaluated. The main objective was to determine whether by using a GIS-based new route approach it is possible to determine the shortest path from logging site to destination (mills). The res...
The forest roads supply accesses to various points in forest in order to timber transportation in forest
plans, Silviculture operations, Training and other using of forest. Road construction made a surface without
vegetation cover that lead to creation of erosion and sediment in forest area. In order to estimating of erosion
and sediment in forest...

This research was aimed to investigate the condition of the existing roads and
designing road network based on forest management plan at Armardah, Baneh.
Using Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, the important layers of slope,
aspect, forest type and distance to villages and resorts, were weighted and ranked.
Maps were produced to w...

Question (1)
I am going to create Iranian Oaks collection (Quercus brant iLindl, Q. libani Oliv, Q. infectoria Oliv, Q. robur subsp. Pedunculiflora, Q. Komarovii A. Camus, Q. castaneifolia) in Natural Resources Research Station, Chamestan, Noor, Mazandaran, Iran. But I have many problems in planting method, finding of appropriate instructions and papers.
I would be thankful if you guide me in this regard.
Best regards,
