Araruama Lagoon is one of the world’s largest permanent hypersaline lagoons, and knowledge about the reproduction of fish assemblages is very scarce. This study aimed to evaluate the reproductive functionality of fishes of the Araruama Lagoon in the seasons of 2011, using functional diversity metrics. We also assessed the influence of abiotic facto...

The study of diet is one of the mechanisms by which competition for resources between species that cohabit in the same ecosystem can be inferred. Therefore, the relationships of the indices that measure specialization in the diet of fish species are necessary to characterize the nutritional quality of these populations and the ecosystem's environme...

A sardinha-bandeira, Opisthonema oglinum (Lesuer, 1818) apresenta vasta distribuição geográfica, preferindo as regiões tropicais e subtropicais. O objetivo do presente trabalho é descrever a dieta por estações do ano da sardinha-bandeira, na Lagoa de Araruama, a maior laguna hipersalina, em estado permanente, do mundo (Kjerfve, 1996).
