More often in the contemporary architectural design the precise art is to highlight and emphasize the valuable existence place through a minimal and discrete intervention, (maybe) slightly impersonal. Also there is a focus on a multilayered palimpsest reinterpretation in the architectural design intervention that could enhance the visibility of the ruin/ the place/ the building as witness of

The trilogy the ruin-the place-the building is surprising the state of urban presence of the cultural heritage object in the moment of architectural decisional intervention-many of these recoveries on patrimonial spaces being in different states-from archaeological exhibited sites to walling plots, but also to complete buildings in urgent need of restoration or/and use for citizens as a cultural experimental act. Understanding primer construction model of the ruin/ the place/ the building and the transformations of its context and the reflection of the memory are in many cases a best beginning for architectural design interventions. But the key in this article is focusing on the minimal changes of perception that are starting from the materials' expression means and observations towards the dissipation of the architectural design gesture in the updated or new functionality as a result of a good exploitation of the drafting resources: the present use of the place. It is the case of many architectural design interventions, with minimal or sensitive approaches that are sliding by the valuable sites, ruins, places or building, at their interior or/and exterior, permitting the perception on their initial statements of participation to the city-as presence, within the urban collection-, but also enjoying a new life for functional activities of the public and private life of inhabitants, creating another layer of making new engaged memories. Considering Rome as a starting place of architectural in-site interventions, and as a reference model of patrimonial communication, the article is developing observations on discrete and enchanting projects of Jean Nouvel at Palazzo Rhinoceros as new residential arts hub for Rome's new cultural mark (to be opened in October 2018), design of Studio Valle Progettazioni and Franco Purini-Winner of Piranesi Prix de Rome 2016 XIV Edition-competition for via dei Fori Imperiali in Rome, Project at Trajan's Forum (2004) realized by Nemesi Studio (Maria Claudia Clemente, Michele Molé) and architectural team: Daniele Durante, Federico Pitzalis, but also the re-use project Fendi Fashion House at Palazzo della Civita Italiana designed by Giovanni Guerrini, Ernesto Bruni La Padula and Mario Romanoas. The new interventions of architectural designs are sharing a new tribute(s) to great architectural heritage places/ ruins/ buildings and to their history and memories, giving a new reason to live-in these valuable sites.
