Question
My paper had been accepted for publication in Journal X recently. The editor would like a statement of mine in acknowledge section to state that an abstract of the topic was published previously in Y conference. May I know how should I put those in words?
Question
Cardiomyopathy (CMP) is an uncommon diseases that often lead to heart failure. Dilated and Hypertrophic CMP are the major type of CMP. The epidemiology data (Incidence and Prevalence) of the diseases is lacking in the Asian region. Owing to the less advance medical record system in my country, we are unable to know the exact number of patient with CMP in the population hence the prevalence. I only have the number of CMP admission to my hospital per year (2013-2018), would it be possible to calculate "Incident rate" for the given year, per 100,000 hospital admission? Or Is there any better method of calculation could be more representative of the population? Your professional input are highly appreciated.
Question
Dear all,
I am new to choosing a target journal for submission and all advise are highly appreciated. I am intended to submit a rare cardiology case with literature review of 100 + cases reported over the past 6 decades. Is there any suitable journal with reasonable impact factors still accepting case reports?
I emailed BMJ heart but apparently they no longer accepting case reports as they did once upon a time. Do Heart Asia, Open heart, BMC be a suitable choice?
Question
A recent study ( ) published in 2018 show that in Premature TVD patient, PCI has an equal long-term benefit on all-cause mortality compare to CABG superior to medical therapy alone. Another study showed ( ) LIMA grafting is superior to PCI (BMS/DES), associating with a lower risk of future coronary diseases progression. Say, an elderly patient presented with massive AMI and may not be fit for surgery, PCI may be the best option. For these Premature TVD (younger age group), if they were to fit for surgery, wouldn't CABG offer better long-term benefit? It would be interesting to explore perspectives on coronary revascularization.
Question
Liver Biopsy had been the Gold standard for staging of liver steatosis and fibrosis. FibroScan is a recent advancement of non invasive imaging came along with LSM and CAP score. Based on several studies, LSM score is reflecting closely to METAVIR staging system for liver fibrosis. May I know what is the most commonly use staging system for steatosis where CAP score could reference to? I found Kleiner Classification and NAFLD score, however I am unsure which is the accurate system.
