I'm analyzing fatigue in brachii muscles during cyclic dynamic contractions. from literature, i came to know that RMS and median mean frequency are not proper parameters to estimate muscle fatigue during dynamic contractions. some researchers suggested RQA time analysis, iEMG, instantaneous mean and median frequency, IIS, wavelet transform etc etc.

are the instantaneous mean, instantaneous median frequency, integrated EMG for RMS are correct options???

As an addon to my question, I would also like to ask:

1. Apart from having to offer pure bending opportunity, i would like to know what unique advantages does 4-point bending has to offer in a flexural fatigue test?

2. Also, is there any particular reason why I do not see the 4 point bending test performed for metals?

Besides the Fatigue Subroutine, does ANSYS have a specialized subroutine to estimate the remaining useful life, RUL, of already damaged structures?

How well does it work, and what are the pitfalls that I have to bear in mind should I want to use any of these packages?

Severe microstructural banding is observed in HSLA nickel ,chrome moly steel rolled bars which is not removed by hardening and tempering. and results in poor high cycle fatigue properties.This is a case study of torsion bar material for main battle tanks.

I performed micro-hardness test on fatigue fracture specimen and found that the hardness of AA6061-T6 under the fracture surface increased with temperature increase up to 150 C. Anybody knows why this phenomena happens since most literatures highlight that softening process occurs during the fatigue test of AA6061 at elevated temperatures.

In most of the research papers testing done with closed-loop. Why?

After welding a high strength steel plate, i am to carry out a fatigue tesg on the welded joint to check the number of turns begore fracture occurs. The specimen is a flat plate and i cant find a fatigue testing machine for flat plates. Kindly advice

Inertia relief method is used to determine loads and estimate fatigue life for an automotive part. Would like to use these derived loads for fatigue testing of the part in a lab where the part would be rigidly clamped to the fixtures for loading. Usage of same loads directly lead to different reaction loads, load paths and hence different failure modes. How to derive the test loads from the FE model using inertia relief?
