Question
Hello everyone,
I am currently exploring several options to give the collected data the greatest value possible.
I have demographic data on older people, where I perform various memory and mood tests. The previous hypotheses were the following:
  • Drawing out the difference between dementia and depression.
  • Identify if the digital tool is as effective as the classic one
  • Contributing to the data collected as a predictor of dementia
A few years ago, studies talked about the real possibility of predicting some years before, what your future mental health will be in terms of memory.
Do you think there is any way to provide value in that sense, with demographic data, clinical tests like MoCa, Yesavage, Lawton, MFE?
Here you are some of these studies.

With python and with sk-learn is a best way to start?
Which features are the more relevants to add value to the prediction?
Thanks in advance,
Question
Pay attention to the question
Will senior adults accept being cognitively and emotionally evaluated by a conversational agent?
This is a question that encompasses many other questions:
  • Are our elders motivated to use technology with voice interaction?
  • Do our elders feel more comfortable with technology when it comes from the hand of a voice?
  • Is the information society capable of meeting all the needs that this group of people needs?
The reader probably can think of many other questions related to care for our elders. Many are directly or indirectly involved with relevant projects, both in the field of technology, education, social and, in our case, mental health.
Help us generate a compilation of doubts, projects and initiatives that allows us to know about each other. It can not only be the beginning of a new friendship but also of future synergies and enriching collaborations both for our research and for our target, our grandfathers and grandmothers.

Question
Where could you find Numbers and Reports focus on Depression?
Dear research community,
In order to make the best with a focus on Depression, I tried to be aware about the different resources around Mental Health disorders.
I would like to know about updated reports in this issue not only in Europe but also if there is some other oficial reports or web observatories of this topic.
Thanks in advance.
Question
Nowadays, we hear in most news the fantastics features of IA, for example chatGPT and the different alternatives to create images and solve common tasks.
However, we have a really worried challenge in terms of mental health. The different kinds of disorders appear more and more in the different targets and different ages for many reasons.
With this question I would like to get some tips of possible solutions to part or most of the problem to solve. I mean, different real solutions to help health staff and patients with the difficulties of their common day.
Our team is pretty sure that the smart speakers could be a solution for natural conversation with this big group of people. The natural interaction combined with the monitoring of specific language patterns would bring a first step of identification of mental disorders.
  • What do you think?
and more important.
  • What other projects or solutions do you know?
Many thanks in advance.
Question
Most of journalism people use different kind of tools in order to publish their news with a innovative way. They want to increase the impact and they try to give the news a moderm access. In fact, nowadays there are some really disruptive tools, and web services that helps in that path to achive this goal. Could you help to build this list of innovative and disruptive tools?
I am aware of some of them but mainly I am using H5P. It is a open source tool. I mainly use it on the Educational field. But why not in the journalism.
In fact, i have in mind some innmersive scenarios really usefull to implement with this tool.
Please, give your feedback in order to help this journalims community! And of course, if you feel that this interactive narrative tools or services could help in another areas, don't hesitate to add your comments.
Best regards
Question
What about the manual skills?
There are a lot of electronic devices, which help us to adapt to the computer interface but, what about the human interface?
In many case the computer interface are not suitable to the human interface. For this reason, many controllers such as the keyboard, mouse and other game controllers have a long journey in our lifes. They are part of our life as an extension of our own body.
Do you know any other systems that let human to interact with the electronic devices with more freedom? And, what kind of problems are there in these different systems or methods?
For example I could mention Voice Recognition, Image Recognition, Gestural Recognition, Brain Interpretation Sensors, but for sure there are a lot.
What kind of projects, research lines do you know are focus nowadays to improve the human interface but with real adaptation to the human body?
For example, what about the manual skills? Why not to use all the skills of our hand as a magician makes? The illusionist, spend a lot of hours training their hands as essential part of their tricks. Then, why not give another chance to the hands to change the way to interact with the electronic devices?
The COVID period is being a really hard moment for the nurses, doctors as the first barrier to fight agains this horrorific situation. But it is being also a really mental problem for all the human species.
In some way, I was thinking about a solution to mitigate that. For example, avoiding to touch is some of the rules to expand the virus and get contagious.
Therefore, clothing or accessories such as gloves can play a key role.
I suggest in this case the Smart Gloves, and you??
