There has always been a conflict between animal life and agricultural produce at the boundaries of farms and other agricultural sites which are situated in proximity to wild life habitat. Wild animal infiltration into agricultural sites may result in loss of agricultural assets while the preventive measures taken against animal infiltration can end...

After these many years, electricity has still not reached the remote areas of the world. Efforts are being made in this direction to develop standalone power supply systems using renewable and non-conventional power generation techniques. Thermo-electric technology is one of the non conventional alternate source for electricity generation technique...

For online sequential training of deep neural networks, where the training data set is chaotic in nature, it becomes quite challenging for choosing a proper learning rate. This paper presents Grif-fiths' variable learning rate algorithm for improved performance of online sequential learning of feed-forward neural networks used for chaotic time-seri...

This paper presents the development of a dynamic Active Noise Control (ANC) algorithm aimed towards reducing the broadband noise inside the helmet earcups of a fighter aircraft pilot helmet. The dynamic ANC involves a Variable Step-Size Griffiths (VSSG) FxLMS algorithm to attenuate noise entering directly through helmet, a LMS based adaptive noise...

DC Micro grid systems which utilize Solar energy from solar photovoltaic panels to obtain the required electric power are integrated with a power electronic converter. For efficient and maximum utilization of power, load impedance should be equal to source impedance. In this paper a Buck converter is designed, which helps in matching the load imped...

In Aircraft engines, condition monitoring based strategies are used to lessen upkeep costs, ensure aircraft wellbeing and to reduce the fuel utilization. Currently the performance deterioration of aircraft engines is determined using parameters such as fuel flow, engine fan speed, vibration, oil weight, oil temperature and Exhaust Gas Temperature (...

This paper proposes an Active Noise Control (ANC) scheme for fighter aircraft pilot helmet application. The proposed scheme addresses the noise environment inside the helmet to achieve perceivable noise attenuation. It also incorporates algorithms such as energy based detectors to control the operation of ANC system and variable step-size to increa...

In a fighter aircraft, for the optimal usage of resources during transmission of signals, a Voice Operated Switch (VOS) is used, as it is considered as a better option compared to push to talk (PTT), because it gives hands free environment for the pilot to carry out other crucial tasks. The heart of VOS is a Voice Activity Detection (VAD) algorithm...

This paper presents an ANN-based technique to find an optimal location for the placement of Distribution Static Compensator (D-STATCOM) in a radial distribution system. This method proves to be suitable for both interconnected as well as radial distribution systems. The main feature of this technique is that the optimal bus in which the D- STATCOM...
