maximum dry density of a GP soil?

I want to evaluate the maximum dry density of a GP soil with average particle size of 6.5 millimeters.My goal is to find density in a specific relative density so I need the maximum and minimum densities. I am wondering which method is the best among the following methods
1-standard proctor test
2-modified proctor test
3-vibration table test

I do not know the referred methods in your question. However, I recommend to you how evaluate the maximum and minimum density of a dried soil sample supported in physics.
The maximum density is the real density of solid phase (Densolid). You can evaluate this density by calculating the volume of a given soil dried sample with known mass. The mass and volume can be determined in a pycnometer by using toluene as reference liquid. You must weigh the pycnometer + sample; then the pycnometer + sample + toluene (at full); and the pycnometer + toluene (at full). These results leads to solid density.
The apparent density (Denap) is,
Denap=Densairf+(1-f)Densolid.
Where “f” is the soil porosity and Denair is the air density. As you can see if f=0 the apparent density is equal to solid density (maximum) and if f=1 the density is equal to air density (minimum).
