I strongly assume its a prennial fuiting body of a Ganoderma species. Here a link to the typical features of basidiospore from Ganoderma

Maybe Ganoderma pfeifferi...microscopic identification!
Empa - Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology
Ganoderma pfeifferi is a European relative of Ganoderma lucidum, but it doesn't occur in India!
National University of Sciences and Technology
Looks like Ganoderma species. However, it requires further analysis like microscopy/ molecular identification to confirm the exact status of species.

I think this is a Fomes fomentarius for which typical are perennial fruit bodies.

It seems to me that is Fomitopsis.
Ganoderma sp.
However, it requires further analysis morphology and molecular identification to confirm the exact status of species.

I don't think so, that G. pfeifferi (the correct name is Ganoderma cupreolaccatum) truly occures in India. Maybe it is a misidentification. The European G. cupreolaccatum (G. pfeifferi) is clearly a perennial species with trimitic hyphal system. It would be useful if you examined the microscopical characters of the specimen.

Please compare with Fomitopsis pinicola. This species can form a lacquer layer and high fruiting bodies.

I'd agree with Vasyl and Fomitopsis pinicola. The red-orange, ochre margin, is also typical. Which tree species was this fruiting on?
Helmholtz Zentrum München Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Gesundheit und Umwelt (GmbH)
To distinguish between Ganoderma and Fomes it is needed to observe their spores.
Ganoderma spores are usually double-walled, truncate and yellow to brown color.

In my country, the main substrats for Fomitopsis pinicola are Abies and Picea but the fungus is also fruiting on Fagus, Tilia, Cerasus avium etc. I never seen fruiting bodies on Pinus.
Technical and Vocational University of Iran
The fruiting body is similar to horse's hoof. Fomes fomentarius is usually massive fruiting body. Moreover, the tree species is an important for living the fungi as well as the color and shapes of fungi can be affected by host and geographical conditions in habitats of tree.

could you give data on substrate and location ?

It looks like Fomes fomentarius. It has massive fruit body and it can grow on Betula that is to see on the pictures.

My expertise is on fungal taxonomy of micro fungi only. For macro fungal (mushroom) identification, a well expertise person can do the analysis on such group of fungi.

Good luck! MR

What is the plant that this fungus infected. A palm? coconut palm? It look like Ganoderma sp. to me. But I appreciate if you can send more photos of the fungus, on MEA & PDA. show the top & the reverse pictures of the culture.

Fomes fomentarius does not have the reddish marginal zone, and the pores are too large for Ganoderma, this is Fomitopsis.
