Why UV light corrosive for long run photocatalysis application?

The UV light, which is chiefly used in a photocatalytic reactor, is corrosive in nature." For a non-corrosive design, the cost of the UV light is replaced with solar energy for photocatalytic activity. what is the reason for the corrosiveness of UV light?

UV light has high energy, the energy increases when the wavelength decreases. Using UV can be compared to using a high pressure washer, while solys are more like a garden hose. The extra energy in UV leads to corrosion.

I don't understand the scope of your question. Could you reformulate it in another way? I don't know if you are referring to the photocorrosion experienced by some catalysts such as CdS or if you are referring to something else.

Under UV irradiation, the photo-excitation of photo-catalysis materials produce an electron/hole (e/h+) pairs. The corresponding interfacial separation for e/h+ is well contributing to the possibility of generating reactive oxygen species and hydroxyl radicals which are both responsible for high corrosion process activities.
Best regards
