Technique of measures bones density by ultrasound, what is the idea of this? (please may you explain)

Due to technical limitations and needing to use two different machines, I have bone mineral density data that has been calibrated with either attenuation coefficients or Hounsfield Units. Is there a way to convert the BMD data from one dataset to the other? In other words, can I go from AC to HU (or visa versa) without needed to remeasure everything?

I interested to characterize the bone structure taking into consideration the mechanical properties of the bone and the use of the non-destructive or non-invasive techniques for orthopedics medical implants applications. Basically, determine what mechanical properties could be affecting the implant fixation. The intent is to avoid loosening of the device, discomfort, inflammation, severe pain and infection to the patient.

Research such as Rho (1995), Lozt (1990), showing a relationship between the apparent density of trabecular bone, and Hounsfield (HU) value. But the relationship between the apparent density of cortical bone, and Hounsfield (HU) have a low coefficient of determination (r^2). I need a relationship between the apparent density of cortical bone and Hounsfield value with a good coefficient of determination.

Can anyone tell me a safe pharmacological agent/ herbal or homeopathic drugs that reduces the bone density after local application? I would like to use it for faster tooth movement. Thank you.

What is the difference between trabecular bone and cortical bone density in ultrasound or CT or bone densitometry exams?

I am using amira and osirex. Does anyone know if they can give me density results?

I normally make ultrasound screening at the beginning and at the end of each season to all my players in patellar and achilles tendons.

My experience is really good because I can start prevention protocols earlier depending on what I see.

Are HU reliable when it comes to studying bone graft materials?
