How to work and handle compounds under argon?

I am going to use Dihydroethidium to investigate the generation of ROS (reactive oxygen species). it is in powder which I need to dissolve it to be able to use it as my marker. The product information sheet says that Dihydroethidium compound should be kept under argon as it is air sensitive. Anyone has practical experience in handling and working with such products?

Dear Vahid,
You have to dissolve the compound in an inert atmosphere "glove box" which has argon gas.

While a glovebox would be ideal, if you don't have one you can just flush the headspace of the vial with inert gas before sealing the vial tightly. I would typically use a piece of softer tubing (and a small pipette tip) hooked up to the stiff tubing of our argon tank. Just be sure the flow is really low, you don't want to blow out the powder! Argon is ideal, since it's more dense than air, so it should readily replace the air in your vial, but if you don't have it nitrogen will help.
Another DIY option is to use a PE bag and a stopcock. Place vial inside, evacuate bag, re-fill with inert gas, repeat a few times, then seal the vial.
