How to process a pool water sample by the MPN technique of the Standard Methods?

I'm currently using A-60G LS15 Norprene tube in a peristaltic pump setup. After 10 minutes of operation, I see black particles floating in water sample (most likely coming off from the Norprene tube) and I suspect that it is ripping from the inside. I'm using the correct pump head and it is used at a relatively low speed. I need to figure out what is causing the norprene tube to come apart and I can't really think of anything much. Any help is appreciated!
