(a) Block copolymer is made up of two or more polymers that are covalently linked together to produce a longer linear chain. This picture shows a schematic representation of an ABA triblock copolymer. If the three blocks are constructed of different homo polymers, an ABC triblock copolymer is formed; if two polymers are used, a diblock copolymer is formed. (b) A graft copolymer, often referred to as a comb polymer. Linear chains stretch from a chain backbone in this case.
