One of the biggest challenges in political mayhem is visible during the election process where no stone is kept unturned in order to gain the power. Further, due to poll violence and waiting in the long queues to cast their votes, numbers of common citizens avoid the voting process completely in order to evade the chaos. In order to reduce these issues or to increase the voting rate, number of smart based or IoT enabled voting applications has been projected by various authors. However, IoT devices can be easily compromised or hacked by the experts (intruders) in order to gain their own access. Therefore, to ensure an enhanced secure and transparent polling process, Blockchain plays a vital role in ensuring the legit votes and their counting without their manipulation in any way. It is also needed in today’s times where the world is available to people in their IoT or smart devices to also give them the opportunity to register their votes hassle free via their smart devices without having to worry about the system getting hacked. Therefore, in this paper, the proposed layout will be based on an enhanced security through Blockchain in E-voting application using IoT devices where the user will create an account with proper verification done via voter id and other biometric methods on a smart device. Every transaction done via this account which in this case will be registering vote will be validated by a miner. The proposed Blockchain mechanism for E-polling using IoT devices is again validated and verified through several parameters such as response time, resource utilization and request processed.

Voting is vital part of democratic country as it allows citizen to choose their own government. Government plays important role in progress of each country. Result of election is good if most of the people votes. In today's digital world, it is necessary to have secure online voting system at place which will save voter's time and motivate citizen to vote. Secure authentication is the main issue in online voting system. The authentication module should allow authentic voter to cast their vote. Even though secure authentication is provided, someone having access to authentication database may use it to get authentic entry into the system. Research in this paper shows new and secure authentication module which provides confidentiality to authentication database so that no one can use the authentication database to pass through the system. We have achieved this using PIN based image secret sharing.

The Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is used to record the vote cast by the public instead of ballot papers used in traditional voting system. EVM is a simple device that is operated easily by the polling officers and the voters. Some of the citizens are not able to present at the day of election due to some valid reasons or due to outstation. A new system is being proposed in this paper to increase the percentage of voting called e-voting system which helps the people who are not able to come to their respective polling booth on the day of election due to valid reasons. In this system there are three sections namely polling section, poll monitoring section and counting section. The polling section consists of a login page, data base submission page, authentication page and voting page. The name and voter id is entered in the login page which will open the database submission page. After submission of required details, authentication page will open for proper authentication of the voters by the polling officer through video streaming and permitted to cast their vote. The voting page will open for the user to cast their vote and it is stored in secured server with encryption techniques to avoid the hackers to made attempt to alter the stored votes. On the day of counting, the stored votes will be retrieved from the server by authorized person to add along with votes stored in the EVM for the particular constituency to finalize the result.

In this modern age of digitization, Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) still uses manual system during election for vote casting. Recently, it is considering to introduce Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in parliamentary elections though EVM is not entirely automated and has many limitations. In this work, we have designed an automated biometric voting system with a convenient user interface and integrated database system containing all voters’ information. Casted votes will be counted automatically at the end of the voting process and result will be generated centrally with less time. Therefore, the proposed system will improve the voting management of Bangladesh by ceasing fraudulent activities, corruptions, ensuring security, transparency, fairness, accuracy and keeping backup trails of voting process.

Fingerprint Voting System was implemented with the Arduino technology. In this System a voter can poll his vote easily. In this database server all voters' information was stored to register in this system, the voter should fill a registration form with the help of a user id and password. This information will be checked by the database server. Because all the information about the voter would be already there is anything wrong, the system will not allow the voter to poll his or her vote.
