... suggests that the region Y59-S68 within the GABA A 1 subunit (equivalent to Y63-S72 in the 5 subunit) forms a -strand in which the residues F64, R66 (corresponding to R70 in the 5 subunit), and S68 are facing into the GABA binding site, where the residues probably interact directly with the GABA molecule ( Boileau et al., 1999).
