This research is related to the terminology field. It deals with borrowing words and terms from other languages to Kurdish language, the reasons, the principles, the methods, and the types according to the point of view of language planning. In fact, the process of –borrowing- exists in all the other languages and it is not specified to Kurdish Language only. Because it is difficult to find a remote nation, without social, business, geographical, civil, and… etc. relations, in order to have an isolated language far from the influence of global languages and neighbor languages. Moreover, the increasing of concepts and connotations is the result of the progress and development of life which requires many words and terms in various fields. Thus, the purpose of this study is to include the importance of planning in the process of borrowing words and terms into Kurdish Language within the language planning to improve and progress Kurdish language and enable the speakers to have access to this new knowledge and science in the process of globalization. Descriptive-Analysis method has been implemented in writing this research. The nature of the study has required, in addition to the preface which is a gate to introduce the subject, to divide the study into four main sections: • The first section is "the summary about borrowing and the process of borrowing". • The second section is devoted to the "principles and motives for borrowing words and terms". • The third section focuses on the "method, purpose, types, and the sources of borrowing in Kurdish language" with providing necessary examples, and explanations. • The fourth section which is the final one is entitled "Terminology Plans in Language Policy and Language Planning for borrowing words and terms". ... A list of even the most relevant investigations of language in the context of digital media discourse would by far exceed the scope of this book which is why it should suffice to say that there are really a lot but surprisingly not many quite recent ones (e.g. Androutsopoulos, 2010;Dejica et al., 2016;Bucholtz & Hall, 2008;Georgakopoulou, 2006;Thurlow & Mroczek, 2011). However, as stated above, most of the studies are in English and about English. ...

The monograph Digital media discourse in linguistic research offers an exploration into the relationship between discourse as a manifestation of language in the digital media and the research possibilities available in the field of linguistics, but not without referring to sociolinguistics, media studies, etc. Substantial research has been devoted to the separate aspects of the subject matter initiated in this book. Especially during the last two decades, the media, discourse and the digital realm have been rather frequent topics successfully elaborated on by authors who have been given due credit in this book. However, it seemed to me that there are not enough resources that would provide systematic and comprehensive insights into how to analyse, understand, describe and further explore digital media discourse by relating linguistic research with theoretical frameworks from communication studies, political studies, journalism etc. These frameworks may, in fact, shed new light on how digital media discourse is both created and perceived while offering some new understanding of all the affordances and constraints entailed in digital media discourse in linguistic research.
... Social media has become a way for a language to adapt in its needs (Monderin & Go, 2021), most specially the use of Facebook where different communication have emerged (Maňáková, 2017). As a result, Netspeak has been used for conventional messaging (Para, 2016). ...

The present study aims at providing an analysis of various translation strategies used by subtitlers in the translation of realia or culture specific references. The corpus consists of excerpts from Series 8 of the American sitcom Friends. Culture specific references are analysed in terms of their degree of transculturality and are classified into: proper names, names of places, objects, food and drinks, references to books, movies, TV shows, etc. The analysis indicates, on the one hand, that the degree of transculturality of culture specific references varies according to the profile of the target audience and, on the other hand, that in audiovisual translation the main purpose of foreignizing and domesticating strategies is to mediate an intercultural encounter.

The interface between literary fiction and digital technologies is creating new forms of cultural phenomena and enabling new channels of interaction between the text and the reader. This paper deals with locative digital fiction and, more particularly, James Attlee’s 2017 awardwinning work titled The Cartographer’s Confession, produced as a smartphone application. The work is considered within the context of urban communication and the framework of Walter Benjamin’s writings concerning the urban stroller, Robert Tally’s literary cartography, and readerresponse criticism (Wolfgang Iser). The paper addresses the issue of gaps, both cartographic and narrative, and examines the potential of digital fiction to overcome them and thus facilitate communication between the text (as map) and its reader, participant in the process of urban communication.

The main aim of the Intellectual Output 1 (IO1) of the European Erasmus+ project TRAIN2VALIDATE “Professional training for easy-to-read facilitators and validators” (García Muñoz 2022) was to understand more about the status and needs of easy-to-read (E2R) validators and facilitators across Europe. To meet this aim, we had to develop a working methodology for surveying validators and facilitators in Europe (Dejica et al. 2021). In this chapter, we present the research team, the methodology we created and the workflow we set up for this purpose.
