International comparisons of relative humidity scales at the highest level are often challenging because of significant drift of the impedance-based transfer standard, which reduces the accuracy of comparison. Comparisons that are shorter or have fewer participants may be less affected by drift, but ultimately require more inter-linking with their...
This paper describes a tunable diode laser based dual channel photoacoustic (PA) humidity
measuring system called WaSul-Hygro primarily designed for aircraft based environment research. It is calibrated for
total pressures and water vapor (WV) volume mixing ratios (VMRs) possible during airborne
applications. WV VMR is calculated by using pressure...
Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is currently a global primary health problem. WHO 2016 data shows that the incidence of ARI and the under-5 mortality rate are estimated at >40/1000 live births, or 15%-20% per year in the under-five group. ARI is an inflammatory reaction in the upper or lower respiratory tract. The risk of ARI occurring depends on...
A calibration instrument for krypton hygrometers (KH20, Campbell Sci.)
with variable path length is presented. This unit allows for in-situ
calibrations of the krypton hygrometer, which is typically not very
stable over time, during measuring campaigns. It was constructed mainly
for application at high altitudes and low temperatures, where further...

A review of miniaturised humidity sensors is presented. Recent achievements in capacitive-, hygrometric-, gravimetric-, optical- and integrated sensors are discussed. Attention is paid to a general perspective of miniaturised humidity sensors, emphasising on integration issues and technological challenges. A table summarising most of the reviewed devices is included.
The paper presents a new complex model of silicon dew point
hygrometer. Construction of fabricated hygrometer is briefly shown. Next
the set of model equations is presented. The model describes: behavior
of water vapor contained in measured gas (saturated vapor partial
pressure, sub cooled water phenomenon), water mass transport
(condensation and evaporation processes), heat transport across
measurement head, silicon dew detector and regulator characteristics.
The numerical dew point hygrometer model realized in SIMULINK
environment is presented. Finally, comparison of measured data and model
responses is discussed
This paper presents the construction and a new complex model of the fabricated silicon dew point hygrometer. The model describes the behavior of water vapor contained in the measured gas (saturated vapor partial pressure, super cooled water phenomenon), water mass transport (condensation and evaporation processes), heat transport across measurement head, silicon dew detector, and regulator characteristics. The model was created in the SIMULINK environment. Finally, a comparison of measured data and model responses is discussed.
