Budiasih, R., Salim, M. A., Apriani, I., Hasani, S. & Subandi, M. (2020). Effect of stimulant (ethephon) application and tapping frequency on latex production of rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg.). Bulg. J. Agric. Sci., 26 (4), 793-799 The stimulant ethephon application and tapping frequency are alternative waysto increase the latex production. The experiment was conducted to examine the effects of different dosages of ethephon and tapping frequencies on the rubber crop production. The research was conducted in district of Bengkulu province from June to August, 2016. The method used was the randomized block design (RBD) factorial with two factors; the first factor was the ethephon dosage consisting of five levels: e 0 = 0 cc trees-1 , e 1 = 0.3 cc trees-1 , e 2 = 0.6 cc trees-1 , e 3 = 0.9 cc trees-1 , and e 4 = 1.2 cc trees-1 , the second factor was the tapping frequency consisting of three levels: f 1 = frequency of 2 days, f 2 = frequency of 3 days, and f 3 = frequency of 4 days. Therefore, there were15 combinations of treatments repeated three times. The further test used was Duncan's Multiple Range Test at 5%. The results showed that there was no interaction effect between the dosage and tapping frequency of ethephon on all observed parameters. The effect of 0.9 cc trees-1 ethephon doses was able to increase the flow rate of latex by 0.46 ml min-1 and 63% fresh latex volume, while the tapping frequency of f 3 increased latex flow rate by 0.42 ml min-1 and fresh latex volume by 859.8 ml. In the dry rubber content parameters, the ethephon dosing at 0.3 cc trees-1 produced 38.07%. On the other hand, frequency of 4 days tapping resulted 37.44% less than other treatments.

Highest frequencies (75%) of friable embryogenic nodular calli were recorded from the root explants in the presence of MS + 4.0 mg/l BAP and 4.0 mg/l NAA. In combinations of BAP and NAA 45.4% callus produced direct plantlets formation and 36.3% only from aerial part of shoots. MS medium with 1.0 mg/l BAP and 0.5 mg/l Kn produced compact callus where 13.3% produced direct plantlets formation and 45.7% produced only shoot formation. Well-developed globular somatic embryos were found to form when the callus were cultured more than 6-8 weeks on MS with 1.0 mg/l BAP and 0.5 mg/l Kn. After acclimatization the well rooted plantlets were transferred to pot and grown successfully in soil.
... Frasetya, Harisman, Sudrajat, and Subandi (2019) experimented with rice plants and found that planting space width will impact rice productivity because it affects the plant's sunlight capture and nutrients and water. uptake Subandi and Firmansyah (2018) found that field cultivation may depend on environmental, meteorological, or seasonal conditions and requires a considerable workforce to obtain a good yield and optimal profit. UNECE (The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) (2015) stated that to harvest a plentiful and healthy yield of seed potatoes for international trading, producers have to plant seed potatoes of the highest quality. ...

The purpose of this study was to study the supply of potato seed in West Java, Indonesia. The research respondent is farmers who use seed, with a sample of 377 farmers and a survey of all seed breeders totaling 43 farmers, using proportionate stratified random sampling. This research report is also complemented by a review analysis of potato seedling development in the last five years. There is considerable interest in the potential that can be developed, productive aged farmers, and adoption of new technologies. Factors exerting a strong influence include capital, technology, adequacy of seed, the proportion of certified seed, and farm credit. Factors identified as influencing the level of demand include the proportion of certified seed, seed prices, capital, and credit allocation for potato farming; at the level of supply factors that can exert influence are the availability of seed, the selling price of seed, and the capital of breeding farmers. Policy simulation on the use of certified seed potatoes shows that increase in the number of specific farm credits, the price of seed and fixed farm capital results in increased use of certified seed and reduced self-selection of seed.

Strawberry becomes one of the popular plants in agro-tourism by combining strawberry plantation with culinary tourism. Increasing growth and yield of strawberry plant can be achieved by applying liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) of vegetable waste and planting media. This research was conducted to study interaction between LOF and planting medium (PM) and to inquire about the best dosage of LOF and planting medium for the growth and yield of strawberry. This research was conducted in the sub-district of Cibiru, Bandung City, West Java. The research design was Randomized Block Design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was vegetable waste of LOF with four treatments level respectively: p0: without LOF application, p1:250 ml, p2: 500 ml, and p3: 750 ml. The second factor was planting media with three treatments level respectively : m0: without husk charcoal, m1: (1:1) soil and husk charcoal, m2: (1:2) soil and husk charcoal. The research finding came up by the existence of interaction in leaf width with the highest number by 835.42 cm ² in combination of p2m2 treatment.
... Lack of water will cause nitrogen nutrient uptake to be inefficient and reduce the growth and yield of soybean crops (Agung and Rahayu, 2004). Soil environment lacking water in the first stages of growth may cause a retarded plantlet (Subandi and Dikayani, 2018). ...

Limited available water, especially in dry land, causes decreasing production of vegetable plants. Cauliflower originates from subtropical regions which require water. Mulching can manage water to a limited extent. An experiment was carried out in the lowlands to find out whether cauliflower cultivar Orient hybrid could grow in an environment with water available under optimal conditions combined with the use of rice straw mulch. The experimental results show that the Orient hybrid of cauliflower is a lowland plant that can provide the same (marketable curd) yield even with the water conditions below the field capacity (75% FC). The use of rice straw mulch doses of 5-10 t ha-1 can help maintain water available for plants. The Orient cultivar hybrid is a lowland cauliflower sufficiently tolerant to lack of water.
... Stability mechanisms in general can be grouped into four things: genetic heterogeneity, component compensation, stress tolerance, and rapid recovery of resources. And Subandi and Dikayani (2018) said that growth form is an important regulation of plant development. In this context stability is defined as a genotype that has genetic heterogeneity to avoid large yield changes in different environments. ...

... Giberellins stimulate cell expansion through stimulation of cell wall enzymes, namely Xyloglucan Endotranslycosylase (XET) which can break the bonds in the cell wall-forming molecule, hemicelluluse which causes other wall components, namely cellulose microfibrils to move, causing widening or expansion of cell walls (Dengler, 2008;Subandi et al., 2018a), and this allows an increase in cell size which causes plants to grow taller. ...
