This study presents a comprehensive overview of the solar industry’s transition towards resilient energy solutions, emphasizing the critical role of data-driven practices in driving this transition through responsible resource management. As continuous technological refinement is essential to optimize solar energy’s potential, the smart use of available data plays a significant part in enhancing the accessibility of solar panels. Building upon prior research investigating the influence of Big Data on solar logistics, this paper proposes a hybrid Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methodology based on expert experience, providing practical support in the implementation of data-driven proactive measures within the solar industry. Specifically, this study focuses on measures aimed at effectively implementing two main logistic strategies, which are Route Optimization (RO) and Warehouse Management (WM). A rigorous analysis of criteria and measures considered to be relevant in the literature is first conducted. Criteria will be screened and weighted to eventually act as drivers toward measure assessment and prioritization. A final sensitivity analysis culminates in the formalization of findings and in the formulation of a pragmatic roadmap tailored for solar industry practitioners, designed to increase operational efficiency while integrating key sustainability principles across supply chain endeavors.

With the continued embracement of digital transformation, the need for efficient collaboration and communication between departments and partners becomes increasingly important. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have a vital role as major systems for corporations’ core business process management activities and as utilizations to offer access to gain new visibility and control over corporation operations. However, integrating ERP systems remains challenging, particularly in virtual and extended enterprises. Our work discusses the importance of ERP integration in enhancing collaboration and communication within virtual and extended enterprises. It explores the challenges and benefits of ERP integration and presents best practices for successful integration, e.g., middleware and API utilization. The role of cloud computing in ERP integration and its potential to support collaboration in virtual and extended enterprises are explored. Finally, the paper discusses the importance of data governance, security, and compliance in ERP integration and highlights the need for a comprehensive approach to ensure successful integration. By following these best practices, businesses can enhance collaboration, streamline operations, and gain a competitive edge in the digital era.

Trustworthiness and product traceability are essential factors in the apparel industry 4.0 for establishing successful business relationships among stakeholders such as customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and consumers. Each stakeholder has implemented different technology-based systems to record and track product transactions. However, these systems work in silos, and there is no intra-system communication, leading to a lack of complete supply chain traceability for all apparel stakeholders. Moreover, apparel stakeholders are reluctant to share their business information with business competitors; thus, they involve third-party auditors to ensure the quality of the final product. Furthermore, the apparel manufacturing industry faces challenges with counterfeit products, making it difficult for consumers to determine the authenticity of the products. Therefore, in this paper, a trustworthy apparel product traceability framework called ChainApparel is developed using the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain to address these challenges of authenticity and traceability of apparel products. Specifically, multiple smart contracts are designed and developed for registration, process execution, audit, fault, and product traceability to authorize, validate, and trace every business transaction among the apparel stakeholders. Further, the real-time performance analysis of ChainApparel is carried out regarding transaction throughput and latency by deploying the compute nodes at different geographical locations using Hyperledger Fabric. The results conclude that ChainApparel accomplished significant performance under diverse workloads while ensuring complete traceability along the complex supply chain of the apparel industry. Thus, the ChainApparel framework helps make the apparel product more trustworthy and transparent in the market while safeguarding trust among the industry stakeholders.

Automated three-dimensional warehouse is one of the important development directions of modern logistics industry, which can achieve efficient, accurate and safe logistics operation and improve the competitiveness of logistics enterprises. In order to fully exploit the advantages of automated three-dimensional warehouses, the storage of goods in automated three-dimensional warehouses must be reasonably designed and optimized to improve space utilization and logistics efficiency. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm based on a combination of Bayesian optimization algorithm and genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of cargo space layout and cargo storage strategy in an automated three-dimensional warehouse. The method uses the Bayesian optimization algorithm to adaptively adjust the parameters of the genetic algorithm to improve the search capability and convergence speed of the genetic algorithm, while preventing the genetic algorithm from falling into local optimum solutions. Through experimental and simulation analysis, this paper demonstrates the effectiveness of the method in improving the cargo space utilization rate and warehouse operation efficiency, and outperforms the method using genetic algorithm alone in terms of performance and stability, providing a new way of thinking and method for the design and management of automated three-dimensional warehouses, with certain theoretical significance and practical value.

Robots, which have mostly been effective in areas such as industrial, agricultural, and production facilities, have started to take a place in the service sector, as their technologies have become lower in cost and more easily accessible. This situation has attracted the attention of companies and researchers and has accelerated studies on this subject. In this study, an algorithm was developed for the autonomous mobile robot to serve in industrial areas. In line with this study, it was ensured that the autonomous mobile robot mapped the working environment, determined the working station in this environment, and then carried out transport operations between these working stations in accordance with a given work order. After the mobile robot fulfilled the work order, it went into a waiting state until a new work order was received. For the mobile robot to save energy, it was ensured that it waited close to the point where the work order came in the most, by means of machine learning in the waiting position. The developed algorithms were designed using the NI LabVIEW environment and then simulated in the RobotinoSIM environment and physically tested using the Robotino autonomous mobile robot platform. The experimental results showed that mapping and location reporting using an RGB camera, odometry, and a QR code eliminated permanent location errors, and the robot completed 50 work orders with 100% accuracy.

Purpose Coordinating low-carbonization and digitalization is a practical implementation pathway to achieve high-quality economic development. Regions are under great emission reduction pressure to achieve low-carbon development. However, why and how regional emission reduction pressure influences enterprise digital transformation is lacking in the literature. This study empirically tests the impact of emission reduction pressure on enterprise digital transformation and its mechanism. Design/methodology/approach This article takes the data of non-financial listed companies from 2011 to 2020 as a sample. The digital transformation index is measured by entropy value method. The bidirectional fixed effect model was used to test the hypothesis. Findings The research results show that emission reduction pressure forces enterprise digital transformation. The mechanism lies in that emission reduction pressure improves digital transformation by promoting enterprise innovation, and digital economy moderates the nexus between emission reduction pressure and digital transformation. Furthermore, the effect of emission reduction pressure on digital transformation is more significant for non-state-owned, mature and high-tech enterprises. Originality/value This paper discusses the mediating role of enterprise innovation between carbon emission reduction pressure and enterprise digital transformation, as well as the moderating role of digital economy. The research expands the body of knowledge about dual carbon targets, digitization and technological innovation. The author’s findings help update the impact of regional digital economy development on enterprise digital transformation. It also provides theoretical guidance for the realization of digital transformation by enterprise innovation.
