The implementation of e-jeepneys stands as a change process that will eventually transition to the modernization of the public transport system in the Philippines. To address concerns about jeepneys’ effects on the environment, energy use, society, the economy, and policies, their acceptability in the Philippines must be considered. This research study aims to identify the sources of influence on Filipinos’ adoption of e-jeepney utilization as a mode of transportation using the extended Pro-Environmental Planned Behavior (PEBP) model. A total of 502 commuters voluntarily answered the survey questionnaire. Based on the findings, perceived environmental concern (PEC) is the most significant determinant influencing attitude (AT) and, thus, affecting the Filipinos’ behavioral intention (BI) towards the adoption of e-jeepneys. Conversely, AT was the primary determinant of BI, which strongly supported the notion of AT as a strong driving force shaping behavioral decisions. Moreover, perceived authority support (PAS) emerged as a strong predictor of subjective norms (SNs), demonstrating the influence of institutional support on societal perceptions. As a result, more environmentally conscious people are more likely to view e-jeepneys positively and intend to use them as a mode of transportation. The endorsement or support from authoritative figures or institutions notably influences subjective norms, which are individuals’ perceptions of social pressures regarding the use of e-jeepneys.

The study introduces the current situation of electric vehicle technologies, the possibilities and possible directions of their market, as well as the economic and environmental aspects in the eastern region of the EU, with special regard to Hungary. Our calculations show that despite the higher costs of ownership, in the case of 7 years of use (among Hungarian conditions), the total cost of the Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) is lower than that of the Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEV) in each of the four segments analysed. The purchasing power of the population in the eastern regions of the EU is clearly lower compared to the western regions, yet people in this region spend beyond their financial means on motorization. Despite its unfavourable position, Hungary is in a particularly advantageous position compared to other countries in the region per vehicle and per capita in terms of the spread of BEVs. In the long run, even taking higher prices into account, the use of electric cars, in general, has significant advantages from an economic point of view; lower maintenance costs and fuel prices (especially with increased use) make EVs more cost-effective overall.

The heavy reliance of the transportation and power generation sector on fossil fuels is seriously impacting the environment. Transitioning towards more sustainable transportation modes is necessary to reduce this dependency on fossil fuels. Even though shifting toward electric vehicles (EVs) can reduce harmful emissions, due to the lack of adequate charging infrastructures, underdeveloped power transmission systems, and increased cost of power generation, it is difficult for a developing country to adopt and rely heavily on EVs. However, developing countries like Bangladesh can adopt a different strategy to address this issue. Harmful emission reduction is also possible by transitioning from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). The drivers that can promote the expansion of HEV adoption have not been extensively studied to date, which inspired the proposed study. This study explores the drivers for the growth of HEV adoption in emerging economies. First, the study identifies seventeen drivers from the literature review and expert feedback. Then the identified drivers were assessed using the Bayesian Best-Worst method (BWM). The study findings indicate that no requirement for a charging station, incentivizing consumers through policy measures, and enhanced fuel efficiency are the top three drivers influencing the growth of HEV adoption in developing or emerging economies. This study can help the decision-makers and end users in developing counties to gradually shift towards a low-carbon emission-based economy and ensure a greener and more sustainable future.

Even if the rippling effects of radical and incremental innovations often bolster a firm's overall effective financial performance, managing all kinds of innovation activities is often not a linear process that induces the desired outcome and profitability levels. Thus, given the high rivalrism in the global car market, this paper offers a critical analysis of Tesla and Toyota's radical and incremental innovation management strategies so as to extract the best practices that can be emulated by other innovation ventures to bolster their competitiveness and financial performance. Methodology used in such analysis entailed a systematic review and synthesis of the existing online data, academic journals and textbooks on Tesla and Toyota's radical and incremental innovation management strategies. Combined with the interview of twenty personnel from car dealers in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow in Scotland about their perceptions of Tesla and Toyota's innovative products, outcomes of such systematic review were triangulated with the core radical and incremental innovation management theories to discern how they offer coherent explanation of Tesla and Toyota's innovation space and management strategies. Though Tesla and Toyota seem to use similar radical and incremental innovation management strategies of search, select, implement and capture, Toyota was still found to have a radical product innovation disadvantage that undermines the development of better EVs to counter Tesla's premium EVs. Similarly, Tesla also has a radical process innovation deficiency that affects the development of cheaper and affordable EVs to further erode Toyota's market dominance. Given such findings, the paper highlights some of the best radical and incremental innovation management practices that can be emulated by different innovation ventures to create, deliver and capture the desired innovation values that can bolster their overall competitiveness and financial performance.
