Fire detection and protection are major problems in factories. A closely related problem is to localize fire sources to effectively extinguish those. In this paper we presented development of a moderate cost wireless sensor network based fire detection system with indoor localization capability. In Bangladesh, where large numbers of garment factori...

Forest fire causes severe economic and ecological damage each year. Timely detection of forest fire in the early stage could effectively avoid possible disaster which requires efficient smoke recognition instead of fire identification. However, the appearance of smoke might share similarity with the background which makes accurate smoke detection difficult. In addition, in contrary to the normal state forest images, it is much more difficult to collect early stage forest fire images, so the available training data for forest smoke detection is severely imbalanced. To address the above issues, a dark channel boosted convolutional neural network has been developed for smoke detection termed as DarkCNN. A Min pooling layer is designed and adopted next to the input layer to extract the dark channel feature of the image. The dark channel of an image could enhance the difference between the smoke and non-smoke pixels and thus provide more discriminant features. To address the imbalanced data distribution problem, weighted softmax loss was adopted to train the DarkCNN. In addition, to localize the smoke region within an image with low time cost, a pipeline combining Simple Linear Iterative Cluster (SLIC) algorithm and DarkCNN has been developed which has much lower computational complexity than methods like R-CNN and its variants. SLIC is employed to segment the image and generate smoke candidates for DarkCNN. The classification results are used to localize the smoke region. Extensive experiments have verified the efficiency of DarkCNN for smoke detection based on single frame.

An MWIR based sensor is good at detecting flames and heat through air currents when a general location of the fire is known, but it fails to achieve constant monitoring needs in urban environments. Researchers [20] suggested optimizing the redevelopment cost of urban areas to reduce fire susceptibility. Fire alarms play an important role in residential safety work. While the Fire Services are the first line of defence against fire accidents, they are heavily under-resourced and lack adequate manpower. After analysing the needs of the Indian Fire Department, this paper proposed a IoT-architecture based fire alarm system that alerts the owner and fire station of a fire outbreak. This paper also uncovers the ideal conditions to set off the fire alarm based on the temperature, humidity and the nature of gases present in the environment using the decision tree algorithm. Several cases are recorded for experimentation and training. Results show 91.15% accuracy in detecting fire.

Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is readily available to consumers around the world because LPG is a clean, portable, and efficient source of energy. LPG is currently used by hundreds of millions of people in the world and there are more than 1000 applications. LPG cylinder may leak as a liquid or a gas. If the source of ignition and gas meets LPG can explode or burn. LPG can make the lives of the people in the house endangered and can cause cold burns to the skin. To ensure the safety and security of the consumers using LPG the study aims to develop a device that can detect gas, smoke, and flame from the LPG cylinder and can notify the owner via text messages applying a rule-based approach. The system can display also a warning message and can alarm the owner using a buzzer. The researchers conducted functionality testing with twenty (20) trials in checking the accuracy of the system were obtained a 100% accuracy. This proves that the system is reliable and efficient when using at home by the consumers.

For the protection and safety of the garment plant staff has becoming a biggest issue now a days. The garment plant employees face a lot of problems and broken out of fireplace one of them for sure. The depositors aren't showing any interest in this sector and importance of this sector is obtaining toneless. Here we used ARM7which are embedded with different types of sensors .We provide associate authentication system to avoid warning. The system can instantly send a SMS to the admin. The admin will make sure or deny the information. If the admin make sure breaking out of fire then system can right away raise an alarm and a SMS will be sent to the nearby fire brigade.

The fire detection is a strong interest for the home surveillance services the smart home. We have a great potential to reduce the devastation caused the fire, and use the information through image processing and information technology in fire detection. This paper presents the intelligent fire push notification service based on IP camera and Web application server with real time processing practically for the mobile user in smart home. We support an automatic fire identification based on the camera image and to alert the fire situation, and to warn the mobile user consequently. And, we design and implement the fire detection using flame color feature extraction of the IP camera images and a push notification mechanism based on IETF HTTP protocol for the mobile user. Also, we evaluate the processing time of the fire detection and push notification to verify the performance of the proposed service. The proposed fire push notification service is intended to improve the home surveillance in terms of practical mobile approach for the safety home environments.
