Instead of looking "dazed and confused" by the metamorphosis of his master, the apostle Peter in the Kurbinovo painting straightforwardly salutes Him with a token of his unquestioning approval in a form of an accentuated "sign of the horns" or mano cornuto ( fig. 2), well known from the social language of some esoteric fraternities, as well as the ideas of Eastern mysticism 13 .
