A large family of distributions arising from distributions of ordered data is proposed which contains other models studied in the literature. This extension subsume many cases of weighted random variables such as order statistics, records, k-records and many others in variety. Such a distribution can be used for modeling data which are not identica...

... Jones weighted model Ahmadi et al. (2015) Interestingly the length-biased distribution (as a weighted distributions) is rather closely related to Lorenz curve which is used in economics to illustrate income distributions. The Lorenz curve is an useful tool to analysis the size distribution of income and wealth. ...
The purpose of this paper is to introduce some properties of generalized failture rate (GFR) and generalized reversed failure rate (GRFR), study their connection with inequality measures and then apply it to make comparisons of some reliability models. In the second part of our paper, we obtain the properties for the GRFR based on the properties of the GFR and weighted distributions. The importance of such a study lies in the usefulness of using. Finally, we present two examples to illustrate the applications of the relationships outlined in this paper. A real dataset is used for clarifying presented concepts.
