Field crickets were collected from agricultural fields and the surrounding vegetation of district Jacobabad through traditional insect nets and by hand picking. The collected specimens were 321, which were sorted out into single sub-family Gryllinae falling into 05 genera and 07 species, i.e. Gryllodes sigillatus (Walker, 1869), Gryllodes supplicans (Walker, 1859), Gryllus bimaculatus (De-Geer, 1773), Acheta burdigalensis (Latreille, 1804), Acheta domesticus (Linnaeus, 1758), Gryllopsis histrio (Saussure, 1877) and Teleogryllus commodus (Walker, 1869). The maximum population of Acheta domesticus (Linnaeus, 1758) was 36%, and Gryllodes supplicans (Walker, 1859) was 24%. While the minimum population of Gryllopsis histrio (Saussure, 1877) was 3%, and Acheta burdigalensis (Latreille, 1804) was 5%, respectively. Additionally, a detailed description of species and distribution is provided. Finding field crickets from this area will be instrumental for the farmers and researchers concerned with the biodiversity of this group.

Grasshoppers (Acridoidea) found in Punjab, Pakistan, are documented in this article with an annotated checklist. Grasshoppers were collected from several districts of Punjab for the current study with the help of insect net (3.5 inch in diameter and 20 inch in length). The field locations encompassed agricultural, mountainous, semi-mountainous, and semi-desert regions characterized by a diverse range of vegetation, including crops, grasses, herbs, shrubs, and other plant species. A comprehensive identification of 74 grasshopper species was conducted, encompassing 11 subfamilies such as Oedipodinae, Gomphocerinae, Eyprepocnemidinae, Acridinae, Oxyinae, Cyrtacanthacridinae, Hemiacridinae, Calliptaminae, Tropidopolinae, and Catantopinae and Dericorythinae (now known as Dericorythidae). Hopefully, this study will form a base line for future Orthopterists in Pakistan.

Bush hoppers belongs to the Orthoptera and Caelifera family Pyrgomorphidae. The Pyrgomorphidae family is characterized by huge morphological variations among species and genus worldwide. Because of their body colouration, this charismatic group of bush hoppers is famous for its unique pronotum patterns. They are considered moderate pests, which attack a broad range of farm crops and cause an outbreak of their instars. The current study aimed to compile comprehensive records of Orthoptera fauna with a focus on British India. For the first time, efforts were made to represent a record in a specific order for the areas falling under Pakistani jurisdiction. The British Indian fauna consists of 28 records from 12 different sub-families that are widely distributed in Pakistan. In addition, the current status of the species in these areas is described in this paper.

Pakistan is the most unique and geographically important region with the Oriental, Palaelarctic and coexisting components with afro-tropical elements, which are suitable for breeding these insects particularly Pyrgomorphidae species. They are most spectacular grasshoppers causing severe damage to various crops. It was therefore present was designed to explore the Pyrgomorphid fauna especially, genus Tenuitarsus Bolívar, 1904 from this region. For the present study, surveys were carried out during the month of March 2019-August 2020 from different localities of district Khairpur Mirs Sindh, Pakistan. The samples were identified into single genus with single species i-e: Tenuitarsus orientalis Kevan, 1959. In this paper we re-describe Tenuitarsus orientalis Kevan, 1959. Beside this, morphometric variations of male and female are presented.

Grasshoppers are one of the most varied group of insects. They belong to phylum Arthropoda, class Insecta and order Orthoptera. Ensifera and Caelifera are two common suborders of the order Orthoptera. The current study was carried out to explore the diversity and distribution of grasshoppers in Tehsil Havelian, District Abbottabad, KPK. Field survey was conducted in 19 localities of Tehsil Havelian from August 2022 to October 2022. Environmental parameters like Temperature and Humidity were also measured. Total 400 specimens were collected from Tehsil Havelian by using Sweep Netting method and Handpicking method and were preserved in the Zoological Museum of Hazara University Mansehra. This study revealed 18 species, 14 genera and 3 families belonging to 2 sub-orders of Orthoptera. Species identified during present research includes: Acrida cinerea, Acrida exaltata, Aiolopus thalassinus, Hieroglyphus nigrorepletus, Oedaleus decorus, Oedaleus senegalensis, Oxya hyla, Oxya japonica, Oxya velox, Patanga succincta, Spathosternum prasiniferum, Trilophidiini annulate, Atractomorpha crenulate, Chrotogonus trachypterus, Conocephalus maculatus, Himertula kinneari, Mecopoda elongate and Phaneroptera gracilis. The most common species recorded in Tehsil Havelian was Spathosternum prasiniferum. Moreover, Acrididae was the most common family and Pyrogomorphidae was recorded as least common family in Tehsil Havelian.

Aptopus Eschscholtz is a native of the Mexico sonar light trap Huachuca Mountain of south central Arizona. This species has been first time observed from district Khairpur Sindh province of Pakistan from (March 2018 to October 2019), these observation represent first record of this species from Sindh or Pakistan. This description and illustrations are provided for easy identification, they cause significant damage to crops, they are pest species and omnivores feeder, especially on maize crops, potatoes, tomatoes and germinating seeds, weeds and small grasses overall in worldwide, its larva is yellowish to brown in color, from damage use the granules insecticides at planting time will prevent from wireworm, Aptopus opata is a differ from the closely allied species on the basis of genitalial and morphological characteristics body lengthened, dark brown to blackish with densely punctuations, prontal angles lengthened, pointed, scutellum blackish spot like, legs lengthened, aedeagus wider than longer, base broader, lateral lobe parameres slightly bigonal, with have golden hairs, at apex, median lobe parameres, broad at basal, rapidly narrowing apically, hairs like structure view from the ventral aspects.
