An optoelectronic system using Microcontroller 89C51 for measurement of concentration, absorption and transmission of inorganic phosphate phosphorous is described. Phosphorous reacts with potassium antimony tartrate and ammonium molybdate solution to form phosphoantimonyl molybdate complex, which on reduction with ascorbic acid forms blue colour. T...

... part of port 3 groups (P3.0 & P3.1). Pin 11 of the 89C51 is assigned to TxD and Pin 10 is designated to RxD. To connect RS232 to the microcontroller system, MAX232 is used to convert the TTL logic levels to the RS232 logic levels, and vice versa. MAX232 IC chip is also known as line driver. The connection of the 8051 (null modem) is shown in the Fig. ...

This study was aimed to explore that effects of Sb on physiological parameters of Acorus calamus and the possibility of using A. calamus as a remediation plant. A. calamus potted experiments were conducted using different concentrations (0, 250, 500, 1000, and 2000 mg/kg) of antimony potassium tartrate (Sb³⁺) (marked as CK, T1, T2, T3, and T4, resp...

Phosphorus existing under different forms and status in soils is a significantly important nutrient during the growth and development of trees. Spectrophotometry has been developed with many types of reagents to determine phosphorus in environmental samples. Molybdenum blue reaction with ascorbic acid as a reducing agent and antimony tartrate catal...

In the present study, the influence of the co-contamination with various chemical forms of antimony (Sb) with arsenite (As[III]) on soil microbial communities was investigated. The oxidation of As(III) to As(V) was monitored in soil columns amended with As(III) and three different chemical forms of Sb: antimony potassium tartrate (Sb[III]-tar), ant...

This paper explains a portable and inexpensive Multi Wavelength Illuminator based optoelectronic system for the measurement of concentration of sodium ion in human blood serum. The Measurement system is developed using a Multi wavelength Illuminator LED lamp (OTLA-0100) as the light source, photodiode as the detector and the LPC2136 microcontroller for data acquisition and the processing unit. Algorithm is developed to monitor, to control the process sequences and transmit data to PC via serial communication module using RS232 protocol. Statistical analyses are carried out to evaluate the performance of the developed instrument and results are compared with that of a conventional instrument (ELDEX-3.8). Linear regression analysis reveals the excellent correlation with correlation coefficient(r) values of 0.99889. No precise differences are observed between the methods by the t-test and F-test results. The t-test and F-test values are 0.436619 and 0.998097 respectively. The chi-square test is also performed to check the significance of obtained results against the conventional method. The developed system shows the good performance and the results are in good agreement with the current clinical method at 98% confidence level.
