Transcript is an academic record that details all the academic performance of a particular student throughout the years spent in the higher institution of learning. It can simply be seen as a copy of student's academic record in higher institution of learning. Hence, any system used for managing students' academic records is referred to as transcri...

... However, this desire is not presently achievable by every Nigerian requesting for transcript because most Nigerian universities still process their transcript request manually. A well-deployed application will eliminate most of these challenges in the current system [10]. Many research works had been ongoing in [12] and [13] including the work of Konyeha and Isere [1] on "Design of a Hybridized-Database Web-Based Transcript Processing System (HWBTP)", this work shows a design framework for a Hybridized-Database Web-Based Transcript Processing System in tertiary institutions in Nigerian. ...

There are many challenges associated with university administration of transcript in Nigeria. Amongst these is the delay in connection with the computation of the transcript and even the issuance of it. There is usually delay because most universities in Nigeria still compute and issue transcript manually. There is no doubt that it is time-consuming, more exposed to errors, stressful and even bureaucratic. The huge challenges of this manual system have resulted in wrongly computed transcripts some times. Most universities have not embraced most of these IT-based systems in their departments because of fear of compromise. Fear that if the processing of transcript is done at the central point by only the transcript officers, there might not be a guarantee of data security hence, most automated transcript generating systems still interact with the departments whenever requests for transcripts are made which negatively affects the response time to such requests. In this paper, the system adopted the Structured System Analysis and Design Methodology. (SSADM) and the implementation of the Distributed Database Transcript Processing System (DDTPS) was done using C# programming language, MySQL database application, HTML, Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), ASP.NET Framework and Microsoft Visual Studio. The system developed was able to compute, verify and approves transcript electronically. The system was also able to keep database at the departmental level for swift response to notification requests for verification from the transcript unit. Thereby reducing the delays normally encountered with transcript processing to the barest minimum.

All scholarly activities generate documents such as statements of results, testimonials, certificates, and transcripts, which are often held in manual file cabinets and relational databases. With the value of scholarly data, it has become critical to safeguard them against falsification and unintentional alteration. Despite the fact that relational databases have become the de facto norm for storing scholarly documents in recent years, the digitised contents are still under the control of a single administrator who has authoritative access to them as well as full rights and privileges. However, because of the centralised control of the system, authoritative access is likely to introduce instances of unauthorised record alteration. This paper provides a blockchain-based theoretical structure for the authentication of digitised scholarly documents with digital signatures. The storage, alteration, dissemination and verification of scholarly records would all be based on blockchain technology. Also, using this technology will notify all approved parties about the changes and they will be able to confirm or deny the status of any update on an earlier stored scholarly record by using its hash.

The current method of student result assessing and processing with the aid of only Microsoft Excel Template is cumbersome, stressful and erroneous. This research studied the difficulties faced with the current result processing system and proposed an improved system using XAMP full stack. In the proposed system, two related software were designed, one to be used by course lecturer to enter students' score and generates students' grade. The other software would be used by the departmental exams officer (DEO) who is the Admin of the system to generate their Grade Point (GP), Cumulative Grade Point Average(CGPA) and Graduating Grade Point Average(CGPA) easily, the exams and record office would use it to generate Transcript. The advanced result processing and management system is highly secured and protected from unauthorized users and this helps to reduce cases of missing student records. It also enhances the reliability and convenience in computation of student score and generate their respective grade point in each course. The database contains the complete and comprehensive details of students and their academic performance. The advanced automated result processing and management system was designed using XAMP full stack where HTML, CSS and JavaScript were used for frontend while PHP and MySQL Database were used to design the students record database.
