Background: With the continuous integration of information technology in the aged-care industry, intelligent aged-care products have gradually appeared, positively promoting the development of the industry. To support the use of these products and to help older people to improve their own health literacy, we built a theoretical model of the mechan...

... Subjective factors will also affect elderly people's willingness to adopt smart aged-care products. Numerous studies show that older people's propensity to employ smart senior care goods is partially influenced by their opinion on product quality [17]. A considerable positive influence on older people's propensity to employ smart aged-care items is also exerted by their emotional attachment to these products [17]. The self-inflation theory defines emotional attachment as a strong bond between individuals or between entities, which can lead to significant motivation and behavioral outcomes [18]. ...

China is now facing a trend of rapid population aging while traditional elderly care models cannot meet the needs to realize effective elderly care. The emergence of smart elderly care could alleviate the situation. However, the adoption of smart elderly care services and the use of smart elderly care products by the elderly are not widespread, and there also exists a situation where elderly individuals lack an understanding of smart elderly care services and products or are unwilling to choose or utilize them. This article conducts a comprehensive review of the adoption of smart elderly care products among Chinas aging population. Based on a large amount of literature, the analysis delves into various influencing factors, including individual differences, subjective perceptions, and objective elements. Finally, to enhance the adoption of smart elderly care services and products among Chinas elderly people, some proper measures are recommended from the perspective of improving smart elderly care services and encouraging related product use.

Hence, some older adults are somewhat resistant to using intelligent products [52]. Meng et al. and Song et al. This study aims to expand upon the understanding of the multifaceted usability issues older adults encounter when using intelligent products. This was achieved by synthesizing extant research findings to come to an understanding of why usability issues still exist in intelligent products for older adults in China, even when appropriate design features are incorporated. This review was conducted by searching the literature on the Scopus, Springer, ScienceDirect, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases as well as Google Scholar using the terms “older adults in China”, “intelligent products”, and “usability.” Forty-three studies from between 2007 and 2022 were included in the review. The results reveal three salient aspects directly related to the usability issues of intelligent products experienced by older adults in China: (1) the usefulness of the product; (2) the ease of use of the product; and (3) the impact of the policy. The first two impact the effectiveness of the use of intelligent products, while the lack of policy intervention in the management system of intelligent products results in product clutter. This review provides insights for designers by proposing a conceptual framework for an intelligent product service platform for older adults, which will help researchers and research teams better understand the usability issues according to older adults’ feedback on intelligent products. We suggest a unified standard for intelligent product management in the future that is compatible across systems and reduces older adults’ learning stress.
... It came into being with the development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and internet of things in the digital information era (44,45). Wisdom healthcare not only subverts the traditional aged care model from the technical aspect but also provides new development requirements for the value creation and value perception of the aged care industry from the service aspect (46). The popularization and application of digital technology make the life of the elderly more intelligent, convenient, and happy (47). ...

With the rapid development of digital information technology, life has become more convenient for people; however, the digital divide for the elderly was even more serious, so they became a forgotten group in the internet age over time. Residents' demand for healthcare is rising, but the wisdom healthcare service supported by digital information technology is less acceptable to the elderly due to the digital divide. Based on the knowledge gap theory and combining the value perception and satisfaction model, this study explores the influence of the digital divide for the elderly on wisdom healthcare satisfaction and takes the perceived value of wisdom healthcare as a mediator, and artificial intelligence and big data as moderators into the research framework. Based on the data of 1,052 elderly people in China, the results show that the digital divide for the elderly has a negative influence on wisdom healthcare satisfaction and perceived value. Moreover, it is found that wisdom healthcare perception value mediated the relationship between the digital divide for the elderly and the wisdom healthcare satisfaction, which enhances the negative effect of the digital divide for the elderly on wisdom healthcare satisfaction. Furthermore, the moderating effect of artificial intelligence and big data on the relationship between the digital divide for the elderly and the perceived value of wisdom healthcare is opposite to that between the perceived value of wisdom healthcare and wisdom healthcare satisfaction. Therefore, this study has a reference value for the development and optimization of smart medical industry.

The quality of healthcare services is related to the quality of life of older people in their later years. A comprehensive evaluation of the healthcare needs of the elderly is the basic basis for providing targeted healthcare services for the elderly population. Taking the Yangtze River Delta region of China as an example, this article constructs an index system for evaluating the healthcare needs among the elderly, and explores the healthcare needs of the elderly and the influencing factors based on Dataset of the Fourth Sample Survey on the Living Conditions of China's Urban and Rural Older Persons. The study concludes that: Age 75 is the cut-off point for the healthcare needs of the elderly, with the growth of healthcare needs of the elderly aged 60–75 relatively flat and the growth of healthcare needs of the elderly aged 75 and above rising sharply. There is a wide variation in the Daily Activities Care Index, Incontinence Index and Aids Use Index scores and their indicators, as reflected in the differences in healthcare needs of older people in different age groups and in urban and rural areas. Healthcare needs of the elderly show a high positive correlation with the Daily Activities Care Index and Incontinence Index; healthcare needs of the elderly show a cubic function curve correlation with the assistive device use index. Community elderly healthcare services are conditions that influence the demand for elderly healthcare, but the low proportion of elderly people staying in elderly care institutions is due to a combination of low affordability, general quality of elderly care services and cultural factors. Educational attainment and marital status are micro-conditions that influence the demand for healthcare in old age. In terms of educational attainment, elderly people who have not attended school have an increasing need for healthcare as they get elderly. In terms of marriage, there is a strong negative correlation between the willingness to healthcare needs among elderly people with a spouse and a strong willingness to healthcare needs among elderly people who are widowed.
